Hey guys, long time reading, new member here!
Over at headblade.com they have the s4 shadow on sale for $75 for father's day. You can use the 20% of coupon from here with that deal, knocking it down to $60.
Figured you would all like to know, as now would be the time to buy it. Mine will be here on tuesday.
Good luck!

Welcome, first of all. And thanks for the alert ... I hadn't seen that when I visited the headblade site last week!
-
Welcome to the Forum! Thanks for the heads up. I love my HB but I won't drop that kind of money for any HB.
I'm getting ready, instead, to spend that coin on a nice DE safety razor.

It's one of those things that eventually, you might buy it, so you might as well while it's $40 off.
As far as the safety razors go:
Merkur 23c long handle safety razor. It's a three piece design which insures that the blade is aligned. It costs around $30. Ten blades typically cost $1.79 (Wilkinson Sword at Walmart) to $2.29 (Personna). Use store brand blades, they are all sharp. You will love it so much that you will buy a straight razor eventually. When that time comes, buy a Dovo, 5/8, Best Quality.
Wet shaving is fantastic- I always use shave cream/soaps and a brush for my face and scalp now. Jack Black's Triple shave lather costs $22 at Sephora, but lasts for at least half a year. C.O Bigelow can be bought at Bath and Body works for $10.

That's some GOOD info on wet shaving! Thanks!!!

Welcome aboard, Thanks for the heads up (no pun intended) but I can't justify dropping that kind of money. I'm really happy with my HB sport for $13 it works GREAT!! O0

I bought one of those a long time ago. IMHO, I would not buy it again. i do use a HB Sport too and it works fine. For one S4 you can buy like 5 Sports.
The S4 is heavier which is good, but I also feel you need to shave with greater care to avoid cuts. I don't get them anymore, but at the beginning it was a real learning curve....just thought I would share my experience

Thanks for the great tips.

I realized that I accidentally called it an S4 Shadow instead of an Eclipse. And thank all of you for the welcomes.
The discount is a combination of a father's day sale, plus 'our' discount, which leads to a really large savings. $25 off, plus 20% off... you won't get it cheaper than this.
To each his/her own I suppose; I've found that heavier blades/razors help much more because it encourages a decrease in the amount of pressure you use.
I received mine in the mail today and it is fantastic. It's easily the quality of my Dovo straight and Merkur safety.

I just took the DE leap a few weeks ago.
It takes a little longer to get the hang but well worth it, for me it's been smoother shaves with less irritation!
Let us know who you get on!
