I have to say, it was an adventure getting my hair all shaved down to a smooth head, but it is finally finished. I'm sure you have all had plenty of practice, but I was surprised about how long and tedious the process was.
Thanks for the support and I'm looking forward to the 30 days :) I'm looking forward to posting the responses I'm getting from friends and family!

Great! Congratulations on embarking on the journey. It's an awesome feeling isn't it?
The first few days after I went Sly I allowed extra time in the morning, but my morning routine quickly returned to the same length as when I was shampooing, toweling, combing, etc. It probably could go faster now (after 2 weeks) but I quite enjoy the ritual and spending that short time just on "me."
Looking forward to the reactions of those around you (and yours as well). I expect you will be surprised at the supportive comments, and that one or two will surprise you for one reason for another.
Keep us posted. Remember we're here to be supportive.
Enjoy your "new" life.

Congratulations, Brandon. Well done. May we have a peek?
The first shave does take longer. A lot longer. Over the next few months, your daily head shave time will reduce. I can be done it about 4 minutes now. Used to take 30 or so. Head Blade helps. But don't go that fast at first with the head blade.
Welcome to sly. May you be sly for life.

Welcome Brandon!
It takes me about 6 minutes to shave my face and head (WTG & ATG).

Congrats!....Are you going to share a photo with us?

Great to have you on board Brandon. That "long and tedious" process WILL get shorter with time and experience. Any questions arise, just ask away.

Hi there Brandon.
Congratulations on taking the leap and welcome to the group.
The first few times you may find yourself asking if it is all worth it as you do spend more time than with hair, however it does get faster, and you may develop an new enjoyment of shaving.
I highly recommended the Headblade for smoothness and speed, but why rush every time? I enjoy the whole grooming ritual and trying new methods.
I am on day 33 and I have not looked back. I don't think I will ever go back.
I'm posting from my BB, so even if you have posted a pic by now, I still cannot see. I hope to see one of you from my Mac soon.
All the best!

Awesome! Congrats, your shave time will get shorter with practice and finding which tools work best for you. Great Look!...BTW the black hat makes for a nice cover when you want/need it!

Thanks guys! I really appreciate the support :D I am LOVING the dome.
Day 1 & 2 were a bit rough- got to finally see the extent of my scalp issue and it was nasty that first couple days. Red and irritated and certainly sensitive. As of day 3, though, there is no more red and for the first time in many years I'm not spending all day scratching my head.
Had some good and bad responses:
Dad: *shrug*
Bro: Walk away laughing and comment on "razor burn"
Fiancée: Keeps asking if "I" like it (but she is definitely warming to it)
Mom: (via text after seeing my picture message) "I'm sure your happy with at least trying to see if this will work , but not taking it kindly that your bald... You have my think (thick) beautiful hair and would like to see it ....still love you
Otherwise, people have been surprised but supportive. Best one I've got so far was from a guy at church: "I tried going bald once,... But short guys like me look like a thumb"
Oh- and a fun tidbit: I am going to go ahead and let my hair grow out for my wedding so that I have my pictures with hair and then am gonna return back to bald after.

Oh, but wouldn't it be tons of fun showing all of your old friends and family a shiny dome? O:O
Since you aren't going to keep your hair grown out after the wedding (early congrats, btw), how about making a progress thread here, showing you going from stubble to full grown, back to smooth? Would be way cool.
Either way, glad to hear you are happy with it!
