Title: Clippers?
Post by: Partyofone on May 13, 2012, 05:36:35 AM
Hi Guys,
Been shaving my head for a few months now and really enjoying it. However, I prefer my hair the most after about 4/5 days growth when it goes a little darker. So at the moment I shave one a week on a Friday and by Monday/Tuesday is when I prefer it. Are there any clippers that would cut this short? I've no idea in mm what it'd be after a few days growth so I don't know if clippers would cut short enough - any ideas?

Thanks

There are some posts about 1 mm clippers. I believe they usually are listed as #00000 or something like that for the length. Google a bit.

I've been using Oster Classic 76's for a few months.  Kind of expensive, but they are quite nice.  And you can buy various size blades to use with them.

Andis makes a #000000 (.1mm) blade that fits them (I've been using this one for about a month or so.)

They also come with a #000 (.5mm) blade that might be around the size you'd like.

If not, they also have a #0000 (.25mm) and #00000 (.2mm) that would be the middle ground between them.

There are a whole range of blades you can buy, and they seem very high quality.

I use the conair the chopper, has 5 settings built in it,1 being skin tight I use the # 2 setting which is a little shorter than a 1mm than you can go up from there it also comes with a beard mustache trimmer blade for about 30 bucks.

An Andis #0A leaves about 2.5 days' hair growth.  Based on a razor shave on a Friday, 2.5 days would take you to mid-Day on Monday.
