What's going on? I'm 22 with a receding hairline and rocking a #1, that's that. I stumbled across the forum and had to join, I'm not troubled by my hair loss issues, I've successfully gotten over it over the past few years (thinning since 17). It sucked at first... I got best hair in highschool and am ironically the first out of my class (only 180 graduating kids) to go bald :*)) At first, I hated the idea of having to run into my high school friends and watch them laugh about it... Especially since I was very successful with the ladies back then. So I just started working hard at life so when that 10 year reunion comes up, my hair will be the last think they think about.
I'm about to graduate college with a degree in graphic design. I also produce, compose and record music. This forum appeared as an awesome networking opportunity so don't hesitate to leave a comment. Also, I was thinking about redoing the logo for this place, what do you think?

Welcome Andy!
Re-doing our logo??!!??? We LOVE our logo.... simple and makes a point. I don't think so Dude..... that's a pretty strong statement for a new guy. Relax, hang around, get to know the guys and what we're all about.

Suspicious... But hey, welcome aboard anyway!

Welcome!
Your comment about succeeding in life, rather than succeeding in...hair...is great. Everything starts to come together with the proper perspective. Thanks for joining and introducing yourself. Stick around.

Welcome Andy. Big thumbs up on making the decision to control your balding. It shows confidence and it's good to see that from a younger guy.
As far as the logo, I agree with Mike, you can't come in and just make changes. Hang out a while and get to know all of us. Maybe then you can make some suggestions and show us some of your work or ideas.
Stick around, enjoy the forum.

Welcome! nice web.

Thanks dudes!
I thought it could be cool to also introduce myself with a little image timeline that simply shows how much I've changed over the years. When I first started dealing with hair loss, it was rough.. especially at such a young age. I'd look back at old facebook pictures and compare the (old better me with hair) to the (new getting worse balding guy) I was trying to fight off. Putting all of these images together helped me stop fixating on the negative things and see it all. I'm not sure if there is a thread on here like this already, but it definitely helped me.
Also, I apologize for my goofy faces, I was never very photogenic :px

Welcome to the bald brotherhood Andy. I disagree about you not being photogenic. Looking forward to more of your posts.

Welcome to SBG ! Awesome website ! Did you design it ? InDesign is cool but am I the only one still using QuarkXPress ?
-
Thanks guys.
I did design that website, it's my online portfolio of design work. I did not use indesign though, I went through a company called Cargo Collective and just did it all within the CSS and HTML. I'm not very familiar with QuarksXpress to be honest :)

Welcome, Andy!
I lost my hair when I was 18 (I'm 20 now), so I can def relate to your story.
I've always hidden my hairloss though, first with a buzz-cut, and then a close-shave.
You should not be worried about being ridiculed by your peers.
I have never had anyone mock me because I was balding, because no one knew I was balding.
People only knew if I directly said something like "Hey, the reason I'm shaving.. is actually because I lost my hair!"
When you are that young people don't expect that you shave because of MPB.
It's really rare to see guys 17-20 that have lost so much hair, that they need to shave it all off.
So frankly, people generally will think to themselves "That's his stye, and he does it because he thinks it looks good"!
I know a guy who has been bald ever since I got to know him. He is like 24years old.
He is one of the coolest and most popular guys I know. He's in shape, got great fashion-sense, and is very social.
I didn't know he had lost his hair, until I started losing mine. Then I spoke with him, and he said he lost his hair when he was 14!!!! So yeah, people generally don't think about you "balding" if you embrace it by shaving it all off. I sure didn't in the past
