Title: More clarification please.
Post by: Morton on April 26, 2012, 11:20:27 PM
So I've now got the witch hazel, aloe vera and the clear head. I've been using a cream I got from a doctor for saddle rash and it has cleared up my head really well but I can't use it forever.

I want to ask when I should use the witch hazel and aloe vera and/or clear head.

My daily routine is as follows. I shower and shave at 6 in the mornings then I go to the gym from 8 till 10. Should I apply the witch hazel and aloe vera after I shave or after the gym or twice(after shaving and after the gym)?

Do I use them if I have no rash or spots or do I use them as a preventive measure?

I also have a variety of moisturizers (l'oreal men expert, matte for men and I've ordered headblade's spf 30 lube). When should I use these or are they not needed seeing as I'm using the witch hazel and aloe?

Do you wash your scalp after shaving? I apply the witch hazel immediately after shaving and then apply the aloe vera. Of course, an alcohol-free after shave may be the most critical, but things don't necessarily work the same for every person so we have to keep experimenting. Good Luck!

I shave in the shower so I do wash my scalp after shaving. I don't use aftershave, do you have any suggestions?

Since you shave in the shower, and I assume you wash up after the gym, try shaving after working out--much longer lasting smooth, IMO.  Then wipe down with astringent, such as witch hazel.  I'm also a big fan of 10% hydrocortizone lotion, not the creme formulation, before a non-oily after shave balm like Nivea Extreme mixed with some sunscreen, again, non-oily.  You could be getting irritated skin from sweating right after shaving.  Just a thought.
