This morning I went sly!!!
Nivea Gel, Hydro 5 and some Nivea post shave balm, I love it!
Doesn't look much different from my clipper no guard shave, but it feels different...
It's a little patchy in places, but hey, first time shaving and no cuts :) And practice will make perfect O0
I want to say a huge thank you to all those who offered me hints tips and advice on here O0

Cropduster,
You look better sly. Keep up the good work. And good on you for having a nick free first head shave.
Totally agree with you, visually it's not a great leap from clipper no guard to shave. But it's that first time you feel your smooth head.
As you get even better, you'll find the head gets smoother.
Considering using the HeadBlade. It's great experience rolling a razor over your head.

Definitely, I think I was probably a little cautious as it was my first head shave, and I did go with the grain, but it's my first go and I love it. I can now practice my technique and continue my sly journey 8)

I love the smooth feeling.
Welcome to our world.
Don't worry about rubbing your smooth head after you shave. From what I can tell, most other sly guys do it all the time.
It'll be even smoother when you go against the grain. Just be careful - long passes from back to front. Keep re-lathering.
-
Great look, Cropduster.
Congratulations on opting for the bald option. It is a great choice for you.
-
Nice job you look amazing. Keep up the great work!

Wise to go easy on the first few days. As you get the hang of it, you can go against the grain and then it is even smoother!.
I waited about a week or 10 days before adding the head blade to my routine.

Nice!
It looks the part!
Congratulations!
-
Great change, echoing Jules' sentiments, I'd you think its smooth now, just you wait till you go against the grain!
-
Looking really good cropduster. Well done O0

I'm going to start shaving every other day, to break my head into it gently but yeah eventualy it will be a daily thing.
Because I'm bald by choice, the only thing I don't like is the colour of my head, it needs some sun, which as you know in England can often be hard to come by ;D

Cropduster,
Living in England, know exactly what you mean. And the weather has been lousy at the moment. Day after day of cloud and rain,
Take heart: I went bald in February. By the end of March, the colour of the head lost looked quite toned.

Typical April showers weather indeed!
I guess it won't take too long to get a little colout to my head. It's the only thing I don't like about it at the minute. I love the feel, the overall look and it was fun shaving...just need a little colour so it doesn't look too white compared to the rest of my face. Going ly is a continuing journey :)

Yes, going sly is an adventure. It's a look, a feel, a passion, a routine, a hobby.
And when you get to my age, it's way of slowing down the visible aging process. At least I know I won't be getting any more grey or loosing more hair.
Keep going. In a week or two, you'll be really hooked. :)

Weathermen reckon we've got at least another week of this showery weather. However, it doesn't take long to get a bit of colour on the head - we had a bit of sun this morning - it helped.
Cropduster, your new Sly look is great. O0

Thanks :) I love it.
I think it may have been you that recommended the Hydro 5 razor on here?
Anyway that's what I used and I got no cuts! And I've never used a proper razor before. Great couple of shaves so far.
-
Well it looks good , and your gf likes it , but go easy on yourself , be wary of the sun especially like today a bit windy

Ahhh... Good 'ol England. Spent some time @ Mildenhall/Lakenheath AB. We didn't call it "Muggy Mildenhall" for no reason... LOL! Good times though (Cambridge) was a blast!
-
Congratulations on the decision to shave Cropduster, you look great. I can't wait for your reaction once you shave against the grain...the fun is just starting.
-
Congratulations! Now that you've gotten your feet wet in the sly pool, I predict you will become emboldened to shave often and against the grain...Good luck!
-
