I think I have had this best thing is use a moisturiser or one of the hosts of creams avaailiable , I assume it is sore feeling and red ?
-
i cant really feel it until i put my aftershave/lotion on then it stings alittle. but yer its pretty red
-
ah you use a alcohol based aftershave that must sting , no dont use that use a cream nivea , cocoa butter if your other half does not mind chocolate or even olive oil , almond oil or somthing of that nature . I got a iol stuff that you get from african barbers that works a treat . Alcohol will only irritate an already irritated skin . .simple cream from boots or moisturising cream thinly . it looks naff if it is still white on your head before you go out . I get a telling off from my other half if its not rubbed in enuf

well i have E45 lotion and cocoa butter :) i prefer cocoa butter but i believe the E45 would work better :) thank you for reply ill give them both a try
-
Have you tried using Witch Hazel as an after shave. I use Thayers Rose scented.
-
its witch hazel im using at the minute :) with a nice dollop of aloe vera lotion after :) but the witch hazel has a 100% alcohol base witch could be causing the burning sensation

Witch hazel helps. It's an 'astringent', which means it'll reduce razor burn - amongst other uses. You can get a bottle from your local chemist for about £2.00 - and it should last a month or more. I use it, too.
-
yer i acquired a pretty huge bottle of witch hazel and a tube of aloe lotion for a fiver :)

At work, in the men's bathroom, there's a tub of alcohol foam hand sanitiser. When I go to the office and the coast is clear, I put some of that on my head, too. It stings (in a good way) for about 30 seconds. Then leaves your head so smooth and gentle. It's joy to use. I wonder if I smell like an alcoholic when I sit at my desk.

By all means buy a bottle of alcohol free.

When you go bald, you get those ideas !
-
Hi Shane, have you tried rubbing ice cube after rinsing your freshly shaven head? Helps a lot in relieving razor burn.
-
If you can find Thayers witch hazel i'd recommend it. It's alcohol free too. 8)
-
all good tips. when i shave, i apply King of Shave Oil and then shaving cream on top of that. The KOS makes the razor glide better and elminate razor burns.

This morning, put some of more of that office men's bathroom alcohol on my head. When no one was looking, of course. My head is so smooth. Like I never had hair to shave.

I use shaving oil on my wet dome, than apply my shave cream or gel. After I use some alcohol free witch hazel and some pure Aloe Vera Gel (when I say pure i mean it, I have several plants growing at home. A large leaf with lots of juice easily lasts for a week).
No razor burns, no cuts, just a smooth dome
-
I rinse with cold water (or ice)and then apply witch hazel. Then I use alcohol free after shave.

For the last week, been using pre-shave oil - King of Shaves. It's a made a big difference to the razor burn.
