hi,
so i'm 23 and live in scotland, and i rarely see guys my age who have shaved their head. Is there anyone out there and if so what made you shave and what gave you the courage to do it?

When I went shaved for the first time I had courage from my friend Patron! I seriously wanted to do it and just got drunk before I had a friend shave it off. I rocked it for about 6 months and I'm back to square one again. I'm on the fence again, but for different reasons this time.

Just do it, you know you want to ;D

I'm BBC. At work there are only a few old men who are bald, or nearly bald, but a bunch of guys who SHOULD shave their head. The comb-overs, the thin hair, etc.
Multiple best buddies buzz their heads with a #1 or no guard. So I started doing that. Really liked it.
Thought I could be the example to others that it's OK to shave your head. So I did. Others have not followed suit yet, but many comment that they really like the look, and I do to. One fellow who is my age, says he's really tempted to shave his head bald, and another close friend really needs to, as he is balding fast. Hope to be an encouragement to him to just do it.

Like mrzed I am at the older end of the age scale. Quite a few older men where I live have shaved heads including about 4 at my gym. Interestingly a group of men I used to work with andare all now retired still meet for lunch. All six of us have beards!! but I am the only one with a shaved head. Frankly four of the other fivd really should shave what little hair they have left but despite my urging (and great example?) have not taken the plunge. Time will tell.

In June, there'll be another sly guy in Scotland when I turn up. Having a few days break in Inverness / Highlands. Looking forward to it, too.

Jeff-ers I am from Scotland too and I have seen lots of guys of all ages who are sly; one of the things that made consider shaving my head was the amount of sly guys I have seen. I always look at each SLY guy I see and think that looks awesome I have never seen anybody who looks bad.I do have an advantage in that i am 6'6'' and can look down to check most sly guys without it being too obvious. As it says in my profile "today is the first day of the rest of your life"

I think this is really important - being positive role models for others.

Right On, Mr. Z and FG!

Hey,
I'm 23 and bald!
Courage came from well, I was already a buzz and it just seemed a logical step!
Have you shaved yet?

what made you shave and what gave you the courage to do it?
Partly going grey / thinning. Mostly curiosity.
So if you are curious, there's only one way to find out.

Having been involved in different military based organisations / military connections for most of my young adult life & keeping my hair fairly short up until about 2007, I decided that I wanted to go "shorter". I went to my barber for my usual summer haircut & he suggested that I go "shorter", too. I ended up having my head shaved smooth. I kept it shaved off and on until recently when I decided to accept the 30-day-rule challenge on this forum, and now I am happy to stay bald.
My advice: if you are thinking about it, just do it!
All the best,
Bilko
