Not sure if I put this in the right forum so I'll ask here...
At some point this year I want to try sly. I use clippers without guard now but would love to try sly at some point.
The only thing is I've NEVER shaved with a razor - for my face I've always used battery razors and beard trimmers. I don't know how to shave :-[
What would I need to shave my head?
Would the Headblade be a good choice for a virgin shaver?
-
cro p I have said I WILL help you razor shave your head for the first time! Do you have some shaving cream and a razor!? I'll guide you thru a razor shave right now! Deal?
-
Thanks, but not quite got the balls to do it right just yet.
I'm just looking for advice at this point. :)
-
sly what kind of advice do you want from me? also do you have any questions?
-
Others may disagree but I would not reccommend a hb to a begginner , use a gillette fusion or a mach 3

I agree with Chav after you start razor shaving your head crop for about 1 1/2 to 2 years I suggest you buy a HeadBlade Sport then!

I would NOT start with a Head Blade. I used the Hydro 5 by schick to start with. That's an easy one to use. Then after two weeks started using the Head Blade. Went carefully and I don't have problems with nicks. I use both HB and Hydro 5 now. They complement each other well. Really enjoy using the head blade, but it does not get the 'corners' well, so I use both.

Yes zed ur quite right , its a nice sensation using a hb , must admit but it does have limitations of whivh a mach 3and a gillette fusion do not have

I'm a huge fan of the HeadBlade but I would NOT recommend it to a beginner. Use one of the more mainstream razors to perfect your shaving technique for a while.
My 15 year old son just had his first shave a few weeks ago and I bought him a package of Schick Quattro disposables. I was curious and pinched one of them to use for myself. That razor is AWESOME..... a great shave, no irration, no nicks or cuts, and it lasted a nice long time before it dulled.

I tried the HeadBlade too early. Nicks, cuts, blood! Quickly abandoned it! Now I use a Wilkinson Quattro - very similar to the Gillette Fusion which I've also used. I get an excellent smooth shave every day. Been Sly for over a year. I won't try the HeadBlade again.

You could always use the electric razor to shave the first few times. That's how I started. Then I moved to a razor and shaving cream, not the HeadBlade.

Crop and Tyler check out the topic I posted to Head Shaving Section! There's a video for you cropduster!

I use philips headgroom, which gives you perfect slyness without cutting you.
Fantastic electric razor, for my scalp.

Ive gotta head groom also it takes longer prefera wet shave if iam working saves time , a
Oit quicker

While I am extremely comfortable using the HeadBlade I would not recommend it for a beginning shaver - instead I would recommend a razor from the Schick family such as the Quattro or Hydro. Along with this I would choose the HeadBlade Head Slick shave cream - once again this is my preference only as there are a number of other great shave creams or gels on the market. Once you choose your tools let us know and we will be happy to assist you in the proper shaving prep as well.

no headblade for newbe :px :-X>:( :x!

My suggestion would be to shave with the grain for the first two or three shaves, and then when your scalp adjusts, go against the grain for the smoother shave....Good Luck!

Get the hair as close as you can with your electric clippers. Then soften the hair with a hot towel. The head blade slick cream is a very good product for a cream. I used a 3 blade unit but found the 5 blade fusion much better and closer shave. A I find after shaving i clean my head with clear & clean face cleaner, feeling for any missed areas. I like the smooth feel after, rinse well and put a moisturizing cream head blade gloss or mat finish. Take your time you can speed up after your shin is used to being shaved. I like the smooth feel. I also find it so much easier and cooler in the summer. Always keep from the sun using a high number sunscreen. And covering with hat if out for a long time. Welcome to SBG. 8)
Headblade is a good product, i feel the fusion or a 5 blade is much better for the task of keeping well groomed.
