Title: 18yr old and beginning the 30 day trial
Post by: Juhooooo on March 20, 2012, 02:59:16 PM: Well i shaved my head for the first time one week ago, after struggling WAY TOO LONG with my awful hair, which had started to take too much control over my life.. And after one week mark im feeling pretty natural with it... Just have to build up more confidence.. O0 As this is the look im naturally going towards.. ;D

Here's the pic as i couldn't upload it as my avatar, any recommendations to get rid of the scalp irritation and pimples caused by shaving? Thanks!

I had razor bumps and irritation too, when I started shaving. From my own experience, you have to patient. It'll take 6 weeks of daily shaving before the scalp toughens, you get better skin tone and the razor bumps disappear. Stick with the look, it improves with every day.

Post by: Laser Man on March 20, 2012, 07:46:52 PM: Wow - looks great and is a definite keeper! Your scalp will toughen up as you shave. In the meantime, prep well - keep your scalp moist as you shave and use a mild astringent like witch hazel afterward to help calm things down.

It took about a week for me to get used to it too. After 2 - 3 weeks, it's a new normal.

As for the scalp irritation I would switch to every other day shave for a while.

I agree with Mike. You look like a long term shaver. Looks GREAT. Like the red and white strips in the background, too. Nice picture.

You don't have to press hard at all while you're shaving. Many people press too hard when they start shaving, and that causes a lot more irritation than necessary. Press lightly as a baseline and add pressure as necessary until it's smooth.

... this is what is taking a me a little longer than it should to learn. But getting there. Less pressure, long passes across the head.
