Hi everyone,
I went out for roughly 6 hours in the sun with no protection at ALL. I realize NOW that I JUST SHAVED my head, that I have some marks on my DOME. It is ugly haha! I just shaved, and put some NIVEA CREAM for dry skin. When I did not shave last week, I did not notice.
I got a sunburn on my head. The episode was LAST Sunday, when I stayed out with no protection. Also, I did not really protect my head this week from the sun...I live in Mexico for the moment.
What should I do? put some cream? but how many times a day? wear a hat to hide from the sun? WHEN WILL MY DOME BE NORMAL AGAIN :(. I think, from the pictures you will see, that it is not as worse as it was before. The skin is like having a new life or something like that.....
Worse thing, I have a date tomorrow jaja! I will wear a hat anyways cuz we are outside.
PLEASE HELP ME AND TELL ME WHAT TO DO! here are the pictures! W0*

It will heal, I had the same thing last summer, try a sun burn lotion once or twice a day and keep your head covered. It will look uglier when it peels, but then your dome will be back. And if it hasn't started to peel in line a week to a week and a half, I'd suggest having a doc check it out.

that looks..serious.
Hope you'll be good soon.

I'll tell you what to do.............................remember that a bald head is the closest thing to the sun and will cook, especially under the broiling Mexico sun. Sorry if I come across a little rough but come on.............it's 2012 and their is way too much information out there on this serious topic. Skin cancer is ALWAYS lurking for someone who ''forgets'' to protect a bald noggin. Use COMMON SENSE and remember to not piss into the wind!

If it's already peeling, then you're set, it'll take a little to get all the dead skin off, but you should be fine

I am not accustomed to wearing hats. But living for years in Arizona and having a shaved head led me to wear a hat with wide brim when being outside for any length of time. There is a practical reason for the size of a cowboy hat. Cowboy hats can be expensive but one can get a wide brimmed hat at outdoor stores like REI (US). Baseball caps just won't do. Need to protect side and back of head. Hat serve a more practical purpose than hiding your head from view.

Put aloe vera on as it'll moisturize and ease the pain.
Make sure you use sunscreen along with a hat if you are going to be out in the sun.

I can't agree with the other guys more, sunscreen is a must, I put it on every day, and if Im going to be out in the sun for a while I'll wear a hat. It's just not worth the risk.
-
Don't forget to put the sunscreen on your ears!

I must be honest, if a person gets badly sunburned these days; I have little or no sympathy. There is enough information and awareness out there to know that getting burned is so dangerous. Here in South Africa the sun can be lethal, even in the winter months in certain areas you can pick up a nice tan. I would HATE to get my sump burned.
Hats look so ugly on me, especially base ball caps. Seriously, I have not the head for a hat. But during summer I will buy a decent hat with a rim, no matter how it looks and I will wear it if I am busy outside.
Remember that pop song, “Wear sunscreen!”

Baseball caps generally are sold, "one size fits all". That just is not true. Even if you remove the adjustable tab, the basic hat is not large enough for a 7 7/8ths head. They just don't fit. And they don't make them in any other sized. Just hard to find a hat that's big enough.

Check out Lids. They have stretch caps they're better than fitted . Always keep aloe gel in the fridge to releave sunburn pain 👍😄
-
so aloe vera gel but the one for after the sun might help ease the pain and don't forget to wear sunscreen when headed out and about on hot days or just wear a hat
-
What about boonie caps? They have a brim to cover the nape of the neck, something that fitted caps don't always do...In another thread, one of our sly brothers (I forget who) had gotten sunburn through the loop of his adjustable cap. But even partial protection is better than none!
