I just picked up one last night. I had about two days growth going on. Now I could shave twice a day if I wanted to. The head on my hair grows faster than my face.
The headblade took care of that growth very easily, very quickly. I shouldn't have waited so long. Lol

I just picked up one phead blade] last night.
Welcome to the headbladers! My favorite, too.

Good news that it has worked out well for you. I have been tempted to give it a try but haven't pulled the trigger yet.
I'm having good results with the Fusion. 8)
-
Good to hear you tried the HeadBlade and like it. It's still my favorite tool for shaving the dome. O0
-
It's my fav too. There are one or two other non-HB blades that will get a little bit closer - but not much. However, the HeadBlade strikes a good balance off between smoothness and time it takes to shave IMO.
-
i absolutely love the headblade, didnt know what to expect, tried it, and now ill never use anything else. i get as close as any other razor ive ever used, (and ive tried just about all of them) and the way it contours to my head is great, i get no nicks, cuts or irritation at all and i shave with it every day.
-
I too like my HB and the results I get. As for the blades, the trips work well but I recently switched to Gillette Sensor Excel
-
I have a Headblade, and I use it when I have limited time, but I do just as well, if not better, with my straight razor or my disposable Mach-3...Now that I am applying my creams with a brush, maybe I'll give the HB another shot....

Good to hear you are enjoying using the HeadBlade. I must be HeadBlade's best newbee customer. Not only have I got the sports HeadBlade, but also the HeadBlade slick and HeadBlade lube (matte finish). A winning combination for my head.
20 days into the 30 day trial, for me. And the looks keeps growing on me (unlike the hair, of course).

Big fan of Headblade though I am waiting for them to improve their razors. Aside from that headblade's portability and dependability makes your purchase a sound investment...
-
I wouldn't use anything else, I just wish their products were easier to get hold of in NZ
-
I just got my headblad e today also I can see it needs patience and perseverance . which is ok . I am still gonna use my fusion if I am in a rush in the mornings before work .
-
Love my HeadBlade!!!
-
Love my HB! Great shave that leaves the dome Sly-Tastic! Just remember not to get over confident...it can be very unforgiving... LOL! ;)
-
I'm pretty happy with my HB but I'd be happier if I didn't feel stubble after only 2-3 hours after shaving. Is it possible I'm doing TOO many passes?
-
How much is TOO many??? I go ATG, check for missed spots, re-lather, and then WTG...again checking for missed spots...
-
Yeah, I do 4 passes over some areas!
-
I mean, even after today, spending the extra 10+ minutes so, going a few passes over the top, diagonally, sideways, ATG, WTG...I still felt stubble on the top of my head literally 2-3 hours after.
-
That can't possibly be the fault of the actually headblade itself, but perhaps the blade cartridge, or the lather... I have noticed more and more, than the better lather I get, and the hotter my scalp is, the better the shave. And I've had a few blades lately that were dull straight out the pack and I got the 2 hour stubble as well. I have found I need to care for the cartridges a lot more than I do for my face razor.

Do you use the TripleBlade kit that the HB has or different blades? How often do you change them out?
-
For you guys who are feeling stubble after only two hours....I started using a brush based on the suggestion of a couple of other guys on this forum and for whatever reason, my shave lasted longer. Pre-brush I felt stubble after about six hours, now I feel smooth for up to twelve hours. You can use your regular shaving cream/soap, and for good measure, add in a few drops of Shave Secret (purchased at Wally World for about $4). Apply with brush and you may not need to make as many passes. Good Luck!
-
Just out of curiosity, what blades are you using?
-
Depending on time frame, I sometimes use my Fromm straight edge razor (purchased at Sally's) or sometimes I use a disposable Mach-3. If time allows, I occasionally use my Headblade but it just doesn't quite do the job alone (maybe I'm using it wrong..)
-
I use the headblade with sensor excel cartridges, they get much closer than the hb triples
-
I will try and persevere with Hb
-
Slyfive... I'm with you on that. Definitely get a smoother shave with them.
-
Stick with the HB Baldchav, you'll get it. Take your time; shave with long, slow strokes, no pressure is needed on the blade end.
As far as blade cartridges, I've found that the Atra and Wilkinson Sword doubles work best for me. I have tried the Sensor's, and they just don't work well for me. It takes many more passes to get really close for some reason.
If you can find them where you are, the Wilkinson Sword double blade cartridges are a real value as well.

@Xnewyawka... Where can I get the Wilkinson blades from?

@Xnewyawka... Where can I get the Wilkinson blades from?
Walmart carry them in a 10 pack for under $4.
-
Thx Doug... Thinking about picking some up and giving them a try

Ro, as Doug indicated you can get the best price at Walmart. They're usually around three and a half dollars or so for a pack of ten. They work great for me and I use them as my standard HB cartridge.
Let us know how it goes.
-
Will do gents... 8)
-
Wish it was that easy for me, can't get any blades that work with the yellow adapter over here (apart from the hb's)
-
THkas dfor the tip on the Wilkinson blades. I will have to get some and give them a try.

Do you use Atra or Atra Plus? I wasn't able to find Atras... Do you find them to work better then the HB Triples?
-
What adaptor are y'all using for wilkinson and atra?
-
Anyone try the tech 3 by wilkinson or know if they fit HB?
-
I'm using the yellow adapter for the Atra plus razors... Going to try out the Wilkinson blades this weekend.
-
Not heard of atra blades , maybe they are not marketted inthe UK

JJ, the blade cartridges are called Atra plus, due to the fact it has a lubra-strip on it. You can also try the Wilkinson Sword brand equivalent, which I find work just as well, for a fraction of the cost. They work much better than the HB triples, imo.
-
Just tried sensor 3 blades for the first time yesterday... WOW. It's 24 four hours since, and I'm still as smooth as a cue ball. The downside is the only cheap way to buy them here is on disposables, so it's a big waste of plastic.
-
well, I tried the Wilkinson Sword, and I must say...NO WAY! They tore up my head something fierce! I have not had razor burn and weepers like this since I started shaving my head. I've got 9 blades that I'll be trashing really soon!
My routine was exactly the same as when I was using the HB with the HB cartridges, so I guess I shouldn't have messed with a good thing!
To each his own I guess! f*rg^
-
@SlyAggie... Really? That bad? What do you think made such a terrible difference? I'm asking because I'm gonna pick some up this weekend...
-
It seems the angle of the actual blades in the cartridge was too steep and therefore grated my head like a piece of sharp cheddar!
-
Ouch... Well, I'm gonna still try 'em out. So far, the Atra Plus seem to work the best on my dome piece.
-
As they say in another forum I'm on, YMMV ( your mileage may vary), meaning different strokes for different folks (no pun intended). I'm sticking with HB cartridges.
