Title: New to the forum
Post by: Cropduster84 on February 19, 2012, 06:44:15 AM
Just want to say this is a great website and a huge confidence boost to someone who chooses to shave their head. My family still don't like me shaving my head, but I love it.
I'm currently shaving it to a number #1 every week, but my profile pic was taken last summer, shaving it to a #0.5.  Maybe one day I'll go sly!
I've had so many hair styles throughout my life but always hated having my hair 'messed up'. Shaving it all off took that all away. And now I can wear beanies all the time, don't have to worry about what my hair will look like in the wind or rain. It's great!

Welcome, i'm newbie too. I have had a 1# buzzcut, like you, since june to novermber of 2011, now i have long hair again.

I like very much the look of your profile pic, but it's difficult to find clippers with that length.

Thanks  :)

Yeah, you have to have a good pair of clippers to take it down to #0.5.

I grew my hair back for 3 months at the end of last year, didn't like it because although not receding my hair had become limp around the temples and used to just go flat on my forehead after wearing a hat - not a good luck. So I dusted off the clippers and took it back down to a #1 again  :)

You should post a pic of yourself with a number #1 haircut.

Whal Balding Clippers are great and can cut your hair to any length except RAZOR SMOOOOTH! You can order them off line and they aren't that expensive.

Cropduster ... mentally airburshing your profile picture ... you would be an excellent candidate for the sly look.  Better yet, you'll enjoy the smooth feel of a shaved head.  Buzzed very short is no comparison. I think it is a reason why so many guys, once they shave BBC,  never go back to hair. The smooth head feels so nice. Paul's (IRock) comment is accurate. Buzzed and shave my look very similar, but shaved bald feels wonderful!  No comparison.  It's the reason I shave BBC every morning. Love that feel. Wife is getting used to it.  She's better with the super smooth, than the sandpaper by evening.

You'll look good sly.

Hi Cropduster

Welcome to the forum.

Agree with what others have said. For years, I'd been shaving my head down to a grade 1 or unguarded. The shaven look is not the big jump you might think. What is a great surprise is smooth feel after the shave. Been shaving my head now every day for two weeks and the novelty is just as great, if not better, than the first time around. Do it and enjoy it.

Mr Jules another Brit, from London.

A pic of me with a #0,5 (like you) one of my prefer looks ... but my clippers don´t have that blade, I only have that if I a go to a barber.

Welcome aboard and enjoy. The short clippers look great on you and sly would even be better.

When you're ready shave away and enjoy the sly feeling. Nothing like it!!  8)

Go for it. Your hair will be back to a .05 in about 2 days anyway, of you hate the sly look.

The 0.5 look definitely suits you dude. You look a lot younger with 0.5 hair.

Welcome Cropduster. I think you should give it a try with a blade shave. If you find you don't care for it (I'm pretty sure you'll love it though), you can have it back to a buzz within a week.

Thx, I will return to the short buzzcut (1# or maybe a 0 #) in a few weeks, during Holy Week. I want to be BBC, but i prefer to do it in summer.
