For the past 14 months I have been shaving my head with an electric razor. Tonight, I tried using a blade for the first time. What a difference. My head is as smooth as a baby's behind. It shines more too.
-
Now you will be more addicted, the super smooth feeling is like nothing else in the world. I noticed when I don't shave for a few days I still have shine, just not as good as when I am smooth. Enjoy it!

awesome!
-
yup Jimbo you can say that again O0. I really like our heads emitting natural oil and eventually causes our heads to shine like bulbs.
-
I've never used an electric razor since high school, but as best as I remember, the blades always do a closer shave.
And for shaving the head, I don't even think that I want to try the electric. The blade is so smooth. I love the feel of the first few hours of especially slick shine and smoothness. Excellent.

It has been decades since I used an electric shaver for facial hair and never have for head. I do like the smooth feel.
-
I've used an electric shaver and then followed up with a blade to get as smooth as possible. Takes a little longer, but there's never any razor burn. Since the electric does the lion's share of the work, the blade just catches the fine stubble.
Once you've experienced a smooth, slick dome, it's almost impossible to go any other way!

Jim
It shines so much you can't even see your dome in the photo.
Looks great
I can't believe you never used a balde on the dome.
-
Awesome looking domw Jimbo.
-
Congratulations on a shave well done.
-
yes nothing like a blade to get real smooth O0 O0,bet u can't keep your hands off your head :@` :@` :@`

Thanks for all the responses. You guys are right - there is nothing like the smooth feel of a blade shave. I could not stop rubbing the slick dome. Looks like you have a blade convert here. The blade was used again tonight. Goodbye Conair CleanHead.

I never shaved with anything but a blade but I have to admit the very first time I shaved my head I fell in love with it. I just could not stop touching my head and marveling at the wonderful smooth feel. I am kind of obsessive compulsive now about trying to get the absolute closest shave possible. I wish I could keep that just shaved feel 24 x7.
-
I know the feeling...the first time I shaved with a Fusion was a very different experience from the Atra or electric.

Jimbo, congrats on making the move over to the slick side! Electrics have their place, be it convenience, fear of the Van Gogh look :o or a gradual transition to the blade. But once you go metal on knoggin', it's tough to go back to anything else! O0

It's been 30 days for me. I'm still rubbing my head each day. Again and again. Love that slick smoothy shiny feel and look.
-
Congrats on the discovery!!
-
Jimbo, your new avatar says it all. It's like I've been saying for many years now: there is nothing quite like a blade shave for ultra-smoothness of the dome!
Good to hear you found that out. O0
-
I wish I could keep that just shaved feel 24 x7.
But if you kept it 24/7 it would rob you of the joy of shaving.
The journey is half the fun.
I love making lather and applying it and shaving it off. I wish I could do it every day instead of every other day, and I really look forward to every shave.
-
Had my third blade shave this evening and can't get over how smooth my dome is. Now I am hooked on it. Thank you guys for the encouragement. If not for you, I would have never tried it.
-
hi jimbo happy blading O0 O0 :@`keep smooth and sly

Out of interest here...
...how often to other SGB members change their blades ? I'm on HeadBlade blades. Don't want to change too quickly, but then don't want to shave with blunt blades.
-
I have to agree the blade shaves much closer than than an electric.
I got about 3 weeks on my blade before replacing.
-
Do you guys mean a cut throat as in a blade , thats really skillfull ?
-
We're talking about a bladed type razor versus an electric shaver. A blade will get you smoother every time! O0
