Well, guys, I first shaved my head on thanksgiving so my 30 days have been up for a while now. I've gotten so used to it that I didn't even notice it. I have a confession to make, though.
I still haven't shaved it smooth, nor have I shaved every day. In fact, I usually only do it once a week (Sunday) and I just use a beard trimmer. That gets it to around a day's worth of growth. I would love to have it completely smooth but if my face is any indication of my scalp, I will get loads of irritation and still not get it completely smooth.
Even through all of that, I'm diggin the look and feel of it and I think I'll keep it like this for a while.

Congratulations on the more than 30days of being almost sly. Do whatever you feel will work best for you. Best regards.

Congrats on the freedom!
Just a thought: Have you tried going, very lightly, with the grain (not against)? Or, an electric face shaver?

Congrats.

Your scalp and your face are completely different. If you are intrigued to give it a try, go for it. If you don't like, you'll be back to stubble in a day or so.

I have tried shaving from every direction I can think of with different amounts of pressure. I did just have a revelation though: My razors are sh*t. I was looking at one in the bathroom a few minutes ago and it's no wonder my skin hurts after using a Bic disposable. The words "sensitive skin" on the package is a warning label because that's all you'll get out of one.
I remember a time a while back my girlfriend was complaining about my stubble and she used one of her fancy, pink lady razors on me and I was so smooth I couldn't stop touching my face. Nothing was different from my routine other than the razor. I don't quite approve of the lack of manliness in that razor but...sacrifices must be made to stay smooth.

It is great that you were able to try her razor. As for me, the smoother the better. Since I have gone sly, I don't like the feel of stubble.

you get what you pay for......get rid of the crappy disposable razors and invest a few bucks in something decent. The options are many - multi-tracs such as the Fusion or Excel are good for some. Others swear by their electrics. As for me I'm a recent convert to the old fashion double edge (DE) safety razor. It shaves better and with less irritation for many guys. Check out www.badgerandblade.com for more guidance on face shaving in general. Oh yeah, I'll hazard a guess that your prep job is as crappy as the razor you've been using. HOT shower, exfoliate with scrub, lay on some Shave Secret and then a GOOD QUALITY sensitive skin gel such as Nivea. Personally I've abandoned the junk in a can for a mug and a brush but that's mychoice. If it takes you ten minutes to shave your face then at least five or six of those minutes should be spent on gettting your sking ready to be scraped with a sharpened piece of steel. And how often do oyu switch razors? I know some of the guys onhere are fanatics about using blades for eternity (they've probably got very tough sking ot begin with) but you should probably figure on a week at most.
