Title: New member. Finally buzzed my head (pics)
Post by: cadetpilot on January 01, 2012, 07:35:44 AM
Hi all. I have been lurking around the forum to help me with my MPB and help keep a positive attitude towards it.
Finally buzzed my head and figured I should post here.

Being only 21 it was extremely hard putting up with my MPB.
You may not be able to tell because my hairline has not receded one bit, and because my hair is now buzzed really short, but I have extremely diffuse hair, and MPB is in both sides of my family (except my father himself :Xo!)
People started to really notice my diffuse thinning, and commenting on it, which made me even more upset.
I stopped caring, and have not been stressing about it for the past 2 months, which should be a good sign.

Needless to say I finally buzzed it really short, and I am considering shaving it off as I will have to eventually do it anyway.
Feels a little weird, some of my cloths don't look good anymore with the buzzed head, and need to hit the gym HARD.

Opinions and suggestions are welcome.

Thank you

Welcome! Here's the stock comment...if you don't like it completely shaved you can grow it back.

Welcome.  Mpb is not a respecter of what we expect--lots of guys have general thinning particularly on top that starts to define the horseshoe.  You've done the right thing, you're ahead of it and control it now--and, when you decide to go completely to the "bone" you'll find it even easier to deal with.  The process can take years, now that will be hidden in plain sight and you can get on with your life.

Welcome to the bald brotherhood. The buzzed head looks good on you. If and when you decide to shave it smooth, keep the facial hair. Best regards

Welcome to the brotherhood!  You should shave it off and keep the facial hair.  If you donĀ“t like it, it will grow back.

How exactly do I bring in the beard if I shave my head off?  :-\

Just stop shaving the beard area.  Beards look excellent with shaved heads.

I did the Van Dyke two months ago and love it almost as much as the BALD DOME- - -

Try full and then cut it down as you like it.

You have a great shaped dome  - -shave it and enjoy it .

Your dome looks great. Keep the dome shaved nice and smooth and keep the beard but keep it groomed.
