hello fellow chrome domes: 4 those of U with facial hair sporting the chrome dome... i gotta question. have U ever shaved your face clean since going sly (i.e. the "mr. clean look")?
i'll start: since i have been head shaving... i have always kept some type of facial hair. i'm thinking 'bout shaving my facial hair clean but kinda a little hesitant. so... how 'bout U? since going sly... have U ever sported the "mr. clean" look? if so... how did U like it? if U haven't.... R U thinking 'bout sporting the "mr. clean" look? what's your story?
right now... i love my facial hair. just was wondering if u thought about shaving your facial hair, too.

Not quite sly yet. Wife thinks I'm bald already! Facial hair is essential. She would not let me in the house without it. Hair on top is optional.
-
Go for the full facial sly, WARHAWK..like we say, try it for 30 days...it'll grow back if you don't like it!
-
Tried it; didn't like it at all.

Sometimes I get the urge to shave it all, but have only done that twice since retiring from the Navy.
The funny thing is, my last tour was so lax I was able to actually get away with growing some facial hair from time to time. >:D
-
A couple of months ago I shaved my goat and kept just my mustache. The only one who even noticed was the lovely Mrs. Koz.
So I grew it back....................

It was more like 90 days, give or take. Couldn't get used to it. I'm not wild about how the grey is taking over, but a grey goat is better than none. I wouldn't do it, if I were you.

Someplace I saw a guy who said, "without my beard, it's too much skin" and I, for my part, believe that's true. The other benefit of having a full beard and shaved head--blades last SOOOOO long. Learning to trim a beard properly though is really a matter that is a process in motion.
-
No. And won't. Ever.
Ever.
My upper lip hasn't seen the light of day since I got out of Basic Training in 1977 and it ain't ever gonna. (It'd probably burst into flame from the experience in any case.)
-
I always regret it after I shave my van dyke and start to grow it again a couple of days later.
-
yup.
but my case if diffrent:D ( I was shaving it to force the beard grow) :D
-
I have always hated having a clean shaven face so I'm not inclined to try! Every time I shave my face I hate it. I haven't tried since going sly though.
-
I have sported the Mr. Clean once or twice, but prefer the full beard and SLY noggin
-
I started out without facial hair and it was fine. I started growing a mustache and goatee in September and now wouldn't think of shaving it off!
-
Between drills, I either keep a Van Dyke or a chinstrap....sometimes for drill I shave the beard but keep the moustache at different widths depending on my mood...Last year overseas I did shave my moustache on four different occasions (twice I was shaping it up and made a mistake and the other two times were for lost bets involving sports 8).
-
Way back when I first started shaving I had a smooth face. Now I mainly keep some sort of facial hair, it is always changing. Most of the time I grow a stubble beard for a month or so then trim it to a goatee then shave it off after another month and start all over. I dislike how I look with a smooth face, I think it makes me look too young which for now isn't too great
-
I have had a beard for over three years now. I kept it when I first went sly a couple of months ago. I am starting to go gray in the beard at 31 years old...I decided to go clean shaven a couple of weeks ago to try it out. I am kinda liking me clean shaven. I look a little younger!
-
I've been clean shaven at times over the years, but usually bearded (goatee and mustache) over the years. Longest time with out facial hair was for about two years ending this past September when I started growing what now appears in my avatar. I'm keepin it for the foreseeable future, maybe for good.
-
Sly and clean Shavin for me. Of course, I'm not allowed facial hair in the service... Well I can have a mustache, but with the strict regulations the Air Force has for mustaches, it's not even worth it. So sly and clean shaved face is the way I go. Although if I could grow facial hair, I'd only grow a soul patch. It's the only kind of facial hair I had and liked having before I joined.

My upper lip has not seen the sun since 1968. I sported a full beard from 1978 until 2006.
I shaved my beard off in 1986 - my young kids said I was not their dad; my wife was upset because I shaved, and even my mother told me to grow it back. My shaved face lasted 2 days.
In 2006, I trimmed the full beard to a Van Dyke. Since then, it has been back and forth between the full beard and the Van Dyke. It is a pain to shave around the Van Dyke, so I now have the full beard again.
It seems odd that I hate to shave my face, but enjoy shaving my head.

I don't find it odd in the least. O:O

I am the same, wouldn't think of shaving the Van Dyke now - -It is part of me - -and goes well with the BALD DOME.
-
I look like a kid in high school if i get rid of what little facial hair I have. The facial hair gives a certain level of toughness to my looks so I will not get rid of it.
-
I have always had some form of facial hair since 2005, and my face has not seen the light of day since 2010.
-
It's funny. When I have hair, no matter how short, I comfortably go from goatee to full beard to clean shaven without a second thought. It just doesn't matter.
But when I shave my head completely, I hate how I look without at least a goatee. Clean shaven head and face is the ONLY look that makes me feel insecure about my appearance. So I always make sure I have a good goat in place before I go sly.
-
I hate if i trim my beard too short
-
I like to change beard styles from time to time. Last autumn it was Mr. Clean, now trying the full beard.
-
Me too, but haven't been Mr. Clean since you wuz a kid.
-
Full beard, Van Dyke, moustache, completely clean, completely clean plus no eyebrows. Just can't be consistent. But that's what a ruthless autocrat should be. Unpredictable.
-
Unpredictability...keep the masses guessing, Ming!

usually clean shaven, sometimes a goatee.
-
I usually sport some kind of facial hair. I at least usually have a mustache. But I have gone with the Mr Clean look twice. While I do think I look good and younger with the clean shaven look, I do prefer to have facial. These days, I usually sport my full grey beard with the bald head!
-
I clean shave my face maybe 2x a year. And I always immediately regret. Gotta have some sort of facial hair.

I hear you on this. I usually do the same myself. In fact I just did it last week due to some dry skin underneath the goat, which I always end up picking at (I think it starts out as an ingrown hair), and then ends up being irritated and bleeds a bit.
Needless to say, I miss my facial hair so I am working on a true chin goatee now.

I had to do it for my new work assignment (they don't allow beards inside oil refineries) and I hate it. I've told my boss that for every month I'm there and have to be clean shaven is one month I will not be trimming my beard when I get back to the office.
Being clean shaven is futile for how quickly my beard grows, and unlike my head I can't even consider going against the grain as razor rash is pretty much guaranteed.
