Title: Oh My God
Post by: Argyle on April 29, 2007, 01:04:43 PM
It is funny how these things creep up on you but I just thought i would share my calculation of two seconds ago that in theory I am having my first child in six weeks and two days!!

Better start decorating with a greater degree of urgency!

That's not always true, I was borne with a full head of hair. That's probably why my older bro doesn't understand why I choose to shave it. I keep trying to get him to shave his (since there isn't much left anyway) but just won't .

Congrats Brother!  Best wishes to you and the Mother to be.  I think a realization like that would be one of those "Got to Go by Flowers for no apparent Reason" moments  O0

Good luck , dude! It's such a great time...but if i haven't given this advice already...and it is important (and helps mentally)...just write off the first month (2 months) as BAD and weird and not feeling if you're doing things right,ect....

it's such a transition, the baby might be fussy, you're both stress....basically can be pretty intense, even if you have a good (sly) head on your shoulders....

things even them selves out after 2 months after the actual birth...that's when you get a nice pay off...you'll see what I mean...

Have fun and keep us posted....

Oh yes, she is the forman and i am the labourer.  No seriously I cant believe how well she is doing.  Still swimming 50 lengths 3 days a week, walking loads in the countryside where we live.  Doing my job I am always a keen advocate of physical activity but i swear that it has helped her massively.

Thanks for the advice guys, and i will of course keep you updated.  I cant wait to find out if it is a boy or a girl, I dont mind which but i think it will be exciting to find out!

That's awesome bro.  The more exercise she can get the easier it will make it on her labor and recovery afterwards.

Good for her, like lance said it will help before and after....we have a picture at home that my wife's trainer took of us both the day BEFORE or little guy decided to come out into the world...

my wife had just finished her last training session with the trainer....the next day she delivered...my wife is a tough one!

Good luck again,,,very cool times! O0

Three kids is where you switch from "Man-To-Man" to a "Zone" defense. We decided to avoid going to a Zone D and stopped at two.

Ahhh, but I heard a long time ago that you're not really parenting until you're outnumbered.   :D

It seems like that even with 2 on 2 - I think we're still outnumbered :D

Speaking as a Proud Unkle of three, its never 2-2, you forget the support staff; Grandmas' always want time with their grand babies, same with unkles and aunts and Grand dads... But I swear, I have never seen anyone more excited/happy to change a dirty smelly diaper than my mother was with my nephew... I mean, she would come to visit, and it became "Me & Baby Time", and I am not the first of the rest of the support staff that got Ran Down/Smacked Down/Beat Down for trying to get time when she was around.

Best Advice: I am a fan of big families... 4-5 is what I am going to shoot for when it comes to that "time" in my life; the key to that equation: LIVE CLOSE TO MOM/GRANDMA!!!
