Ok, my first love is (and will always be) baseball, but, as you can see from my pic, you know where I stand on the NFL. Our family had season tickets for many, many years before the Raiders moved to LA, and I go to a few games a year currently. I know most people greet the beginning of the NFL season with excitement, but the excitement wanes in fans if their team is on the ropes.
So, how are you feeling about your team now that we're at the halfway point of the 2011 season? For me, I'm pretty optomistic. When the season began, I thought if my Raiders finished 8-8, I'd consider the campaign a hit. However, I'm very surprised with the play of our offensive line, which has greatly improved the strength of our team, the running game. Obviously the Raiders have had a lot of news this year, with the passing of the late, great Al Davis, and the trade for Carson Palmer. Losing Al was a tragic loss, but the Raiders had a contingency plan in place, and the team appears to be in strong, capable hands. I love Hue Jackson as coach, and I approve of the acquisition of Carson Palmer.
Love 'em or Hate 'em, I think all would agree the NFL is much more interesting when the Raiders are relevant, and this year, we're definitely relevant. I am pretty optomistic that we'll win the AFC West, as San Diego will fold, and I just don't see KC (though they stomped us in week 7), as a legitimate threat.
For My Raiders, I'll say a solid B. We lost a bad game in Buffalo in Week 3, but 4-3 after the NFL dealt us a brutal first four week schedule, I'm OK with that.
So, what say you about your team?

My team sucks this year... 4 and 4 :(

I'm a big Ravens fan! At this point I'd call them "inconsistent".
They smacked around the Steelers and the Jets and then lost to Tennessee and Jacksonville.
Great teams get cranked up for ALL games, not just the games against good teams.
Before the Season started, if you hold told me that they would be 5-2 at this point I woulld have been ecstatic.... but the way they gotten to 5-2 is a little troubling.
Go Ravens!!

The Saint were off to a good start. They made a good showing against Green Bay, lost one to Tampa Bay that they should have, oh well. Spanked the Colts. Then lost to St. Louis Ramms??????? :o Let's hope they get their eyes back on the ball. Overall grade A-.

Wit' da Saints, right now dey ain't the Ain'ts, but it all depends which team shows up :/O--there have to be two teams, it's the only explanation. They're a B-.
-
I've often thought that about the Eagles. It depends on which team shows up, the "A" team or the "B" team.

It's been tough with Green Bay and Detroit this year, but don't count them out yet...

Our Home Team is the Minnesota Vikings. As You know our team has not been doing very well. I would give them an F this year.
-
I would hate to count the Bears out at the halfway point but I think that they might have a shot at a wild card but no better than that unless the Lions and the Packers have total meltdowns. That O-Line ain't getting a whole lot better and they're gonna have to hit some folks and keep Cutler off his back if they want to win.
-
Da Bears are at it again, winning and losing games they shouldn't. One week we look unstoppable and then next we look like Sh*t. Nevertheless, go Bears

Upgraded grade F!
-
Detroit lions B+

I'm a Bengals fan. Who'd a thunk they'd be 6-2 at the midpoint? So it's gotta be an A.
-
Big win for the Ravens last night! Now if they can just beat Mr. Bean's Bengals...........
-
After last night's escape from Philly I have to admit that things are looking up for the Bears. And Cutler didn't take one sack!
-
The Bears looked pretty good. The Eagles make too many mistakes to be a contender.
-
Who Dat, now the Dirty Birds!
-
I'm going to fire the manager of my Fantasy Football team.

Lions are doing pretty good with a big match up against the Bears coming up.............would be nice to whip them again for payback from last years royal screwing. They have added Leonard Davis and Kevin Smith to help a weak running game. The Lions defense can be very tough to play against. Grade A-.

Me to!!!!!!!!!!!

Things were really starting to look up for the Bears after going 5-0 in their last 5 games. Now Cutler has a broken thumb and is out for the season. Things are not looking so good. But the fact that JC played on after breaking the thumb should ease concerns as to his toughness. Also, the fact that he chased down the interception and assisted in the tackle should ease fears about his level of committment to the team.
Wait 'til next year!

As a Raider fan, I'm not certain if it's good or bad that Cutler is out of the game against my boys next week.

As a Raiders fan it is definitely good for you. Cutler, Lovie Smith, and Mike Martz had a meeting at the beginning of the win streak and the result was that Martz designs the basic game plan but Cutler calls the plays. Martz seemed to have a hard time understanding that Cutler was not going to be able to throw the long ball from his back. So Cutler started calling plays that basically make him quite a bit safer from D-line pressure and blitzes and opened up the game for the occasional long ball as well as the running game. I don't see how Haney could be "there" yet because of the percentage of snaps he gets to take in practice. Bears defense will do its job but I don't see how the offense can come together in a week.
I'm not counting the Bears out yet but I'd say that the prospects have dimmed quite a bit with this injury.

Can't hurt our chances. Just win baby !! 😄
