Well the weather prognosticators didn't miss on this one. It started snowing about 6:15 AM this morning. Two inches already on the ground and it's snowing pretty hard.
We're in the 6"-12" area!!
It's going to be a long winter.

I've lived in the east. It'll probably be 70 degrees and sunny day after tomorrow.
Oh, BTW . . . Bah Humbug! ;)

No snow here yet, and maybe not much to come, but there is rain of a cold, windblown sort, and on my drive home from an errand it was clear that there were little bits of ice in many of the drops hitting the windshield. I don't remember, in over five decades here, ever seeing snow on the ground in October. And I haven't yet, but tomorrow morning may be "different."
-
We've got about 3 inches of wet snow on the ground and it's still coming at a good clip. We've had an earthquake, hurricane and now snow before Halloween. Strange year!
-
The weather man in N.Y.C. said this was only the 3rd time it snowed in Oct. since the Civil War.
-
The new ice age is approaching.
-
Mike, I'm sure it will be gone in a couple of days. Then you can get some crisp, scenic Fall riding in.
It's still pretty warm out here, I wouldn't mind having some snow. ;)
-
Ahhh, winter is so very beautiful...my favorite time of year.
-
Way too early for all that white stuff. I'm glad we didn't get any out stayed south of us.
-
We're getting hit pretty hard in Connecticut. Up to 21" and 610,000 without power.
I was looking forward to Winter, but this is just crazy.
-
Come to Seattle where it is rainy and in the low 50's. It's a heat wave here! Seriously, that is pretty early for snow. But I remember about 40 years ago, we had some snow in October one morning, but it was gone by noon. But I am hoping for a lot of snow this winter in our nearby mountains! I am ready to go skiing! O0 ^-^ :)

We wound up with about 8-9 inches and a LOT of trees and large branches down We were without power for about 35 of the last 36 hours It just came back on about 30 minutes ago.
Most of it has already melted about 4 inches left. It will be almost all gone by tomorrow.
-
Six inches of very wet snow. Lots of trees down. No power since 2 yesterday afternoon.
-
Our power came back on tonight. Had a few misarable days with cold weather, 12" of snow on the ground and no power. Also 2 trees down and lots of branches. I was actually looking forward to Winter before this silly storm....
-
It sure is here (cold and snow) - -we lost power for three days - - -and the generator would not kick in - - A N D no hot water - -no water at all - and the temperature in the house was 50 - - -got power back now and is it nice to shave
-
Geez, what a way to start the winter.
-
My sister lives in Philly. I thought she was joking when she told me her car was covered. Then she sent a pic. October is too early for snow. Global warming? Not so sure.
-
This past summer we had big floods, record lows, record highs and now all this early snow...maybe the scientists are right about, "Climate Change".

Just changing the name doesn't prove a damn thing. Science isn't a consensus.
Hope all the SBGs in the northeast are doing OK with this early visit from Old Man Winter.

Piece of cake in South Jersey. It hardly touched us.
-
I have friends all over the eastern US that have told me about all the snow, I am slightly envious. They are calling for a chance of snow on Saturday here. Luckly I have all the fall cleaning done and 5 ton of hay put up, might try to get another ton just to be safe though.
-
Still without electricity (since Saturday afternoon). It's strange to step over piles of snow that were plowed to the curb. Halloween trick or treating for kids has been postponed until this Friday.
-
Time to move to the Carolina's guys. My inpatients are still blooming outdoors. The Cosmos are beautiful, and I'm still harvesting turnips, radishes, and kale from the garden. Oh, and the roses are still blooming.
And some of the spring bulbs are sprouting already, hoping that it will stay warm enough this winter.
-
Some say climate change, I call it a normal cycle.
Friend of mine in Vermont was without power for about 18 hours and is ready to move back to New Mexico. Glad everyone is OK.
-
I also believe it is a normal cycle.....................I wonder what Al ''the internet'' Gore has to say. Actually, I could not care less.
