Anyone else planning to get in the Halloween mood by watching some horror movies this weekend? I've got some old favorites that I haven't seen in quite a while that I'm ready to see again. Some of my favorites are:
1. Psycho
2. Carrie
3. The Omen
4. Rosemary's Baby
5. Young Frankenstein (not a horror pic per se, but a great spoof nonetheless)
Any other suggestions? g#$+ g#$+

"Rocky Horror..." makes me laugh just thinking about it. :*)) :*)) :*))

How can you leave out, The Shining? "Here's Johnny!" "REDRUM!"
And, why not An American Werewolf in London? There's a bad moon rising.
-
How about "The Exorcist".

How about "The Exorcist".
Yes, that was a good one. I don't own a copy of that. I should get it.
-
Gotta have the George Romero Night of the Living Dead movies.
Dawn on the Dead was particularly gross.

I'm really big on older horror films from the 70's to the 80's. I like everything from the more popular like Halloween, The Exorcist, The Shining, Dawn of the Dead...to the real obscure B-grade stuff like Mountaintop Motel Massacre, Slaughterhouse, Don't Torture a Duckling....ALL the way down to Z-grade, shot on video/camcorder schlock (Video Violence, Cannibal Campout, The Burning Moon, The Ripper)

Gotta have the Evil dead series, definitely a classic, and they've got Bruce Campbell. Also the new fright night remake is awesome. And I'm with Ming, you can't forget the shining.
-
Love Carrie very poignant and a classic now but mutilation turns me off cant watch it ,
-
I have the entire "Child's Play" (Chucky) series...does that count?
-
This really is my genre of movies! :)
So here's a list of my current favorites, Hope you like them!
Inside
Battle Royale
The Descent
Tokyo Gore Police
Planet Terror
Let The Right One In (The Swedish Original)
Near Dark
[Rec]
30 Days Of Night
Dawn Of The Dead (The Zack Snyder one)
Hard Revenge Milly
I've tried to stay away from some of the more obvious horror movies... If you watch them, I hope that you enjoy them :)

I haven't seen most of those. Only 4. I'll have to check out the others. Just saw the original Let the Right One In about a month ago. I enjoyed how well it incorporated love into a thrilling vampire story. I've heard of Battle Royal, but of course have never seen it. Supposed to be crazy stuff!
I was seriously just talking with my wife last night about what horror movies we should rent this Halloween. We want to go with truly creepy/scary this year. First on my mind was the original Pet Sematary. Haven't seen it in a while, and always gives me the creeps. At least I have 3-1/2 months to make a good list!
-
Perfect timing then! :)
Battle Royale is pretty crazy! (Think Hunger Games, but made for grown ups... Maybe Tokyo Gore Police is even crazier!) And Pet Cemetery is just great!
Glad you like Let The Right One In!
Hmmm... Creepy/Scary stuff!
Inside is one I'd think fits the bill. It's a bit gruesome as well. It's in French, so if you're ok with subtitle/dubbed moves, it rocks!
The Descent if pretty creepy too.
Maybe I'd suggest [Rec} and 30 Days of Night as well...
You could also try The Orphanage, The Last Exorcism, Pans Labyrinth (Not strictly horror...), Captivity, Vacancy and (again, not quite horror) Hard Candy.
Happy Halloween! >:D

Thanks for the suggestions! Very much appreciated. I did see Hard Candy last year. Great flick, and crazy!

I second Pan's labyrinth, that movie is a beautiful piece of art. also, the strangers is pretty awesome.
-
How about "The Exorcist".
One of my faves. Along with some of the Halloween (Michael Myers) ones. Texas Chainsaw Massacre, The Rite, Silence of the Lambs, Red Dragon, among others. O0

How about Friday the 13th and Hostel?

I watched Insidious over the weekend. One of the scarier horror flicks I have seen so far.
