I know Sly Bald Guys is an international group. But for our American members, I thought you would be interested in some of the comedy that makes fun of us Yanks! Because Seattle, is not too far from Canada, we get the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation on our cable. The CBC has a very funny show called, "This Hour Has 22 Minutes". They have had a segment called "Talking To Americans", which shows how ignorant many of us are of Canada. But here is a video that plays into the "Ugly American" stereotype. It is funny and unfortunately, there may be a grain of truth! Enjoy! http://www.cbc.ca/video/#/Shows/22_Minutes/Clips/1287245959/ID=2151697429

Good humor has to have a grain or truth, which is why that sketch falls flat. The usual complaint os that American tourists expect everyone to speak English but kn this clip the woman assumes that the shopkeeper couldn't possibly speak English. Can't have it both ways.
The ugly American stereotype exists for a reason and is not without justification but I think they missed the mark with this particular clip. I've never seen anyone behave like that.

Thankfully I have not seen that myself. But I do think that sometimes we as Americans can be superior in our attitudes. Having said that, I also know that Canadians can be anti-American. When I was living near the Canadian border, I went on a trip to Vancouver with a friend with Cerebral Palsy and his wife. We were just minding our own business and just having fun. My friend with CP happened to talk a little bit loud because of his disease. At that point a smug Canadian said to us, "humph, Americans!" I responded, "Don't knock it.....we leave money!" So I know that ugly behavior happens with all nationalities!

I believe many Americans are rude , but most people are not . But the truth is most countries are just jealous of what we have.

I agree, we are and have been for a long while a superpower and now we are the only truly superpower left although I think the mantle will be assumed by China in the not too distant future.

While this is an over the top exaggeration, like Razor says, it has a grain of truth. Whether you like them or not, stereotypes like this exist for a reason. That being said, this sort of behavior is generally the exception rather then the rule IMO.
