hello fellow chrome domes:
i know many people (family, friends, co-workers) that have tattoos. all of the tattoos have many different meanings. i was just wondering how many tattoos do U have?

Got my first one in 1997 in Pattaya Beach, Thailand for a pair of Ray-bans. Showed some devotion to my hobby of magic, sleight-of-hand mostly, with a wizard on my arm.
It has become somewhat of an addiction...I may have to post up again...and again...and again...on this thread. ;D
-
I got my first when I got out of boot camp...life was simple then.
-
10 mostly memorials to friends and family that have past on.
-
I've got none :)

Jimmy Buffett, A Permanent Reminder of a Temporary Feeling

I indicated 5 tats in the poll but I think I might have 6 if I count the one piece of "flash" that I had covered with my own design recently.
-
3 for me. A relatively small one on my upper left bicep, a half sleeve on my lower left arm, and a half sleeve on my upper right arm.
-
count the one piece of "flash" that I had covered with my own design recently.
I also have a cover up of another.
-
Two half sleeves for me each is a foot long. On the right arm I have an eagle, dragon, cobra and a scorpion surrounding an american eagle and all intertwined in an American Flag. On the left arm, I have an eagle devouring a snake and being fought off by a St. Michael all in full color.
-
I have a bunch of tattoos

this is like ..wow, omw:D
-
3 tattoos here, all picked by the ladies in my life. Mom, sister and grandma
-
A bunch, don't know what I should count as separate, full sleeve on my left arm, two separate wrist pieces, and nearly half my back.
-
11 right now. One day I'll finish my half sleeves, my back, chest, and the back of my legs. One day.
-
"Two," but they really don't count. Two single black dots, one below the navel, one a few inches farther down, both being fixed points to guide radiation beam therapy for prostate cancer.
But, still, technically tats. And no plans for any more.
-
Twelve, on various body parts, but I plan on having half sleeves; like Stewie said, "one day". ;)
-
Three and the next one coming soon :x!
-
3 but this one is my favorite. On my left side rib cage..... (https://www.slybaldguys.com/smf/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fa2.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net%2Fhphotos-ak-snc7%2F305256_1976434621441_1560376205_31596369_1605070071_n.jpg&hash=046dc6e8165f1c14acdb3067f607c159b3588be1)
-
One on my ankle. The baby footprint and date is awesome.
-
Three for me. One on each upper arm and one on the inside of my forearm
-
Got 6, first one being a cross between my thumb and pointer finger back when I was like in Middle School. Now I'm working on a traditional Japanese sleeve.
-
I've got none :)
Yeah.
All my Tatoos and my piercings are marked and plunged into my soul.
-
One on the right side of my chest. I can certainly understand how they can become addicting!
-
2 at the moment - which will be 3 next weekend
-
Two and counting.
-
Thinking about getting one or two, just haven't followed through yet..
-
I have four, one on each wrist, one on my upper left arm, and one on my upper right back.
-
So did you get your tattoo, or were you talking about Jan 25th?
-
I havenĀ“t any by the moment, though I want to have one this year on my back, on the scapular area. I am looking for a design with a circular labyrinth.
-
Getting that "itch" for another tat... ;)
-
I have Seven so far.... Here is a pic of my most recent and favourite, it is my daughters name Dorothy (Dottie)

I've lost count of the actual number of separate tattoos I have. Both arms are fully sleeved shoulder to wrist. The backs of both hands are done. Tattoos on the first knuckles of all 8 fingers and one on the right side of my head/neck, behind the ear. Starting to plan my first leg sleeve with my artist, so more to come. O0
-
I have five.
Pegasus
Dolphins
Sea Horses
Mermaid
Arm band of sun and moon
Great Pic lynchy what a beautiful child :)

Thanks Daniel?

Jealous, I want more so badly... Just that little issue of the $$$$
I'm in Vash's boat, one full sleeve, one half with a wrist piece, and half my back.... the money is kinda painful when you think about it, but it's for your whole life not a one off so i don't mind spending it.
-
I have two small ones and have set an appointment for a 1/3 to 1/2 sleeve in august of a koi fish. I can't wait!

I don't mind spending the money lol but you know food and bills is probably more important :( lol
-
I thought about getting one or two as I posted earlier in this thread, but given my semi-advanced age, I don't know...but then again, I am a bachelor now, and my younger brother got one at 32, so you never know...
-
Sirharry, what does age gotta do with it? I say go for it (familiar mantra around here)... Like I said earlier, I'm prepping for my next one...and I'm 40 sumthin' 8)
-

I started rather late...I was almost 70. But now I have a KC Chiefs on my left fore arm, A USC Just above that, a corporate emblem on my bicep (I owned the corp so...) and I'm starting a full shoulder and half sleeve on my right. And I have plans....oh do I have plans. One thing, when I hit the crematory, at least part of me will still be bright and colourful....As to numbers...? It's hard to quantify a number when a half sleeve and shoulder plus back, chest and part way up to my nect are involved. How about, Many? Plus more to come.
-
Quite like the logo, really cool
-
I don'rt have any.
-
I have 1. It's my mom and dads names. Thought it might be nice to get a piece dedicated to them while they are still around!
-
I have two half sleeves. Shoulder to elbow on both arms. Right side is a devil with a crucifix nailed to his head (meaning confused about going evil or staying straight) with Angels and demons around him and an eye on the inside bicep. Left arm is a huge cross with wings and on inside is a portrait of my wife on the entire inside bicep. From armpit to elbow. Let me tell you...inside of the arm/biceps....hurt like a MF. I think that's why I wanted them there- just to have said I dealt with that pain :)
-
One. Right upper arm. For my mom who died 18 months ago.
-

Sorry about your mom....nice way to honor her, though (I have a couple of friends who did the same when they lost their mothers)
-
One to remember my Dad
-
Non here, I'm not into tattoos at all. But I have to admit that more than once I thought about getting the names of my two kids inked forever, don't know if I will ever do it...but that's as far as I would go
-
Seven, but that's not enough.
-
None. I'd never be able to commit to a design. Piercings can come and go, but ink is forever.
-
Five. One on each ankle, one on each bicep and one on my right fore arm. I have plans to expand that one into a half sleeve.
-
14, on my arms and chest. Plenty of room for more!
-
No tattoos. No piercings, either. I don't like the idea of doing anything permanent with my body.
-
Tattoos are addictive. Once you have that first one you want more and then there's no stopping!
-
One big tattoo, from just north of my belt line down to just above the knees. The shorts have taken about 8 months so far (about one or two sessions a month), and there is still plenty to do. I would post up pics, but due to the area covered, they might burn some eyes.
SirHarry, just as Ro stated, age has nothing to do with it. I am 48, and started this back in January. The artist is a genius, and we are both very happy with the results so far. This will be epic when it is finished.
-
Earlier in this thread I mentined that I have three.... two half sleeves and a smaller piece.
This past weekend I went to a new shop and talked to the guy about getting some new ink this winter. I'm going to have my wife as a pin up girl tattooed on my left arm.
-
That sounds good Mike...Then you "know" your beautiful wife is for keeps.
It's strange, for me, going Sly was far easier than getting a tattoo. My wife has tattoos, and she wants more... ::)

Oh Dude.... after almost 18 years together and two kids. She's mine.
-
None for me. So 40% of the people on here don't have toos...so we're the "different" ones. ;)

Well, judging from your current profile pic, that is going to be one damn fine piece of art (if you get my drift)

Thanks Matt...... My wife will make a great pin-up girl ( I LOVE pin-up girls!)! I took her into the shop to meet the guy and he simply said "WHOA! Great pin-up girl material!". She's curvy like a pin-up girl and has sort of a classic look about her.
-
I have 2 myself. On my upper right arm I have a Celtic cross with a ribbon around it that has my 3 sons names on it. On my upper left arm I have a big rattlesnake poised to strike with "Don't tread on me" under it. I want a 3rd, just haven't settled on what to get yet.
-

It was the exact opposite for me. I found it much easier getting tattooed than going sly. I got my first in 2006. It seems kinda weird because tats are harder to get rid of.......and I'm scared of needles!
-
I have two, one on each arm covering the full length of my inner forearms. Took me ages to finally get them done, I am absolutely scared of needles but it's nothing like an injection!!
I found it really relaxing, I was under the needle for 3 hours and at one point I swear I nodded off asleep, which is odd as I don't care what anyone says, they do hurt!! It's not a terrible pain but someone is essentially scratching your arm repeatedly, it's really not too much discomfort for something that's with you for the rest of your life, the healing is much worse!! ;D
I had both my forearms done in the same sitting which on reflection wasn't wise, you don't realise how much you use your arms untill they are sore!!
Really want some more done, I like the full sleeve look but I'm in no hurry, only want stuff on there that i really want, the amount of teenagers I see nowadays with fully tatted up sleeves, hands and necks is worrying, I have nothing against tattoos but covering yourself when you're still a kid doesn't seem a good idea, I don't care what people may say, people will judge you differently, it's wrong but it's true, plus if I'd had the ideas I had as a teenager done when I was young I'd probably regret them now!!
I have a couple of peices I'd like to get done in the near future, one with reference to my girlfriend of 11 years as we are getting married next year, and another peice in memory of my best friend who took his own life nearly 9 years ago, every day we are getting futher apart so I'd like something close by as one day the memories may not be as bright as they are now.

On the first point, it's so true, I'm almost fully sleeved up (finishing my right arm next friday, left was finished almost 2 years ago), and I teach guitar, having to teach after a 5 or 7 hour session is crazy!
I totally agree with you on the teenagers getting covered up thing. I'm just about as obsessed with tattoos as you could possibly get, and intend to be covered below the neck and above the knees over the course of my lifetime. But that is with much thought, and every piece having a deep meaning or value to me (I designed almost everything on me). So many kids just want the 'look', without the spiritual, cultural, or artistic connection, and that is unlikely to last.
and on the last point congrats on the relationship, true love is a beautiful thing. And my deepest sympathy for your friend, his family, and of course, yourself. One of my childhood best friends committed suicide a few years after I moved overseas, We had a huge falling out before I left and never got the chance to reconcile, I also want a piece, firstly to pay respect, but also as my apology to him for not being a better friend, and helping him when he needed it most.
God Bless,
Matt
-
Three; my favorite is R upper arm, a memorial to a very close friend who died when we were both 38 - he went up for a jump shot playing basketball and just collapsed.
And I found it easier to get tattooed than to go sly also!
-
I have 8 like to keep things even. LOL I agree with the statement of tats being addictive. I have had mine for many years . Had a few recolored. But it has been 7 years since that was done. It is always in the back of my head to get another one. I am thing about a Scorpin between my thumb and index or I like to call it trigger finger. Will know on the 17th of this month when I get my splint off after a severe fx. of my right wrist.
-
Don't have one yet...but I want to get one. I've heard they are addictive O:O
-
No tats yet. If/when I do, it will be a tribal band on one arm, and then perhaps a bear paw over the opposite shoulder
-
I love my tat's I should , once you get them they are there. You can have cover up's. But I wouldn't want any. They all have meaning, and are special to me. And that is the most important. I can say that I don't like that tat's people have got when they have been wasted and wanted to feel like a big guy. ;D
How stupid. Tatoo's (INK) is special, also make sure you have a good artist that is clean , same as piercings, look at the place , for clean, like Mr.Clean and a Dept. of Health Sticker. ;) Now days got people saying they are in the medical profession , and yeah right??? Just Sayen.
-
This is the last picture I have of my right arm, it's a full sleeve now.

Great ink Slyfive!

Thanks Ro

I have a couple of tatts on both my upper arms. I would love a half sleeve on at least one arm but unfortunately my tattoos are such I actually want to remove them. I went to a parlor to see if they could do a cover up job. it is possible but would be a lot of work.

Inkwork.....
the only thing you can buy that you will ever truly own.
everything else cant be bought... it must be earned.
I have one....
It just covers most of my body.
I have been a professional piercer for quite a few many years.
being around other artists and such it just seemed to be the next logical step for me.
I have been inking for about 6 years Florida certified.. (florida now required all artists to hold competent certifications)
We try not to judge others but it happens...
I personally do not have any on my hands neck or face...
(something that was taught to me to be reserved for tattooers
a old school tattoo trend from years past)
So a extra extended hello to all the other sly guys here who are inked.
-
Thanks for the compliments Mike and FG, when do we get to see yours Mr Koz? And also awesome work nick, I love a good bit of old school!
