Title: More money than sense?
Post by: Chavster on September 13, 2011, 04:53:17 AM
If anyone can give me a reason why I should buy this, I'd be very grateful. I'd be even more grateful if you'd give me reasons why I shouldn't buy it.

I've been like a shaving set pervert since yesterday afternoon when I saw this, and I'm trying hard to fight the urge to get my wallet out of my trousers (pants).

That is beautiful and could be a life long treasure. Just seeing that every morning would make any ones day. If you don't jump on it now, you'll be sorry later.

Check out www.badgerandblade.com    It's a site dedicated to trafitional shaving, they may have an alternate vendor who might  have it at a better price.   It's a  great piece but I would suggest trying a cheap brush before spending that amount of  cash. I'm a bowl and brush laher guy myself and  I love it - will never go back to the canned crap.

Thanks guys :)

I'd never use a cheap brush. My last one cost me around $80 (in my local currency obviously). I never use canned crap either. Right now I'm using Taylor of Old Bond Street Sandalwood shaving cream. Its excellent.

I was a cup 'n' brush guy for years and loved it...but I've been hijacked by the convenience of, Gel.

Well I just found my old mug 'n' brush and gave them a good cleaning. Tomorrow I'll be near a CVS and will get a cake of soap to stick in the mug and we'll see what happens. Thanx for planting the seed.

Wish I could be of assistance but....I have a very similar set that I got from Geo. Trumper. Mine wasn't quite so dear but then I bought it 20 years ago. Go on, be nice to yourself, few others will. This is a long term investment, not a disposable thing. It marks you as a gentleman of quality who understands their actions and will only accept the finest to accomplish that. It's the defining mark of the Gentleman Shaving Perv. Get it.

Well thats the first time anyone has called me a gentleman in quite a while :) I usually just get the perv part, and not the gentleman part :D :D

But yeah you're right, I think I'll treat myself. What the hell.

You'll stop feeling guilty when you see and hold it in your hand....and the orgasmic feeling when you shave with it.
