Hello everyone!
I'm a 22 year old guy from Norway who has decided to go permanently bald!
I've tried many different looks throughout my life, but never felt really comfortable with anyone of them until now. I've tried both long and short hair, clean shaven and full bearded. I started loosing my hair when I was around 20 years old. I had just served one year in the army (08-09) with very short hair and I really missed having long hair. I started saving for long hair again but noticed the receding hairline and how stupid it looked now, so I dropped it. This was quite a shock for me!
After that I went to the store and bought a hair cutter and started out with short hair again, and continued further down to very short hair. Then I went bald for the first time in October 2010 and stayed bald for about a month, with a clean shaven face. I didn't really like the look of it then and I got many negative comments. I felt that my face/head was too naked when bald, and I was more into having a clean shaven face then. So I went back to having short hair again for about half a year. Then two weeks ago I tried being bald again, but with a full beard this time. I'm really glad that I did that! I'm now bald with a full beard and I really like the look of it!! I feel like I can finally be satisfied with my looks! O0
This site has helped me a lot! thanks Sly Bald Guys!

Hello,
Welcome to SBG. I'm a straight man but you are a very attractive man, if I can say that, I imagine you must hear it all the time. :)
Wish I looked that good sly. But then again, I have 20 years of life over ya.
Look forward to seeing you more around here. BTW, I'm 2nd generation American, my grandparents are from Norway. Jeg snakker norsk, men er ganske rusten

Thanks Man, or "takk"! :)
Glad to hear that you have relatives from Norway. I have a lot of relatives from the States , especially from Minnesota! I really enjoy visiting the States, it's such a lovely country ;)

Welcome! I can never remember which of the languages it is over there but far far is grandfather and I have a fun saying that goes with it.

Welcome Ellus!
The look suits you well. I am clean shaven right now, but I also tend to prefer facial hair with a shaved head.
No relatives from Norway in my family, but my father's side of the family is Finnish. :)

As you can see, I like the bald/beard look too but I'm not even two weeks in so I haven't tried clean shaven yet. I think it is a great look for you. I can't believe you could look even better with long hair. Welcome to the group.

When my grandmother saw me for the first time without hair, she kept commenting how intense my eyes were. I have to agree with her. I have dark, kind of heavy eyebrows and it does give an intense (in a good way look) when you don't have any hair and I think the beard contributes to that look. I think you have it too. It draws people in.

Ellus,
I raised my family in Petersburg, Alaska. A town founded by Peter Bushman, a Norwegian. The town still celebrates syttende mai with a four day festival each year. We learned to do Norwegian folk dance. What fun! Rosemaling on the homes and store fronts. Bunads. And a Viking Ship in the harbor!
You look very distinguished with the bald head and the trim beard. The beard is a nice accent.

I'm reminded of a teacher I had in school years ago. He was Norwegian, and we used to imitate his accent. When he would admonish one of his students, he would sometimes call them a dingleheimer! We had no idea what it meant, but it made us laugh because it was such a funny sounding word the way he would pronounce it.
