Title: Questions about head shape
Post by: WellIllBeBald on July 25, 2011, 10:04:35 PM
Hello all, I'm a 23 year old man that has been going bald since about 16.  I was mostly completely bald by 18, so I started using hair clippers with no guard.  I do have questions about my head shape though, and if shaving is the right thing to do for it.  The top of my head is larger or as large as my face, so it looks slightly imbalanced, and it's very asymmetrical.  I just.. don't know what else to do with it.  Er, pics are included.  Any help would be amazing, thank you guys!

There's definitely nothing wrong with your head shape!  Your head shape won't change or look any different going from zero guard to shaved, but you will have the satisfaction of a smooth dome and a more badass look!  I say it's the right thing to do.  There's literally "nothing to lose" so go ahead and break out the razor and get smooth!  If you don't like it your hair will be back to it's zero guard state in a week or less.

Well you're batting 100% on the important stuff--shaving the dome.  But, 100% off base--you've got a fine head shape.  Welcome to SBG--

It seems pretty universal that everyone is initially weirded out by their head shape. I was/am. I'm getting over it.

We all assume our heads are odd / deformed / peculiar before we shave and there's the initial shock of seeing yourself without hair.  You look fine, so don't worry about it - just enjoy the look and feel of the smooth dome!

It's a trick your eyes are playing on you.  God did a wonderful job designing the human body, especially the head.  MOST PEOPLE DONT KNOW but your head is totally even. if you drew a line from the center of your pupil (eye) down you would be at the ends of your mouth (when not open or smiling).  Your ears are the same height as your eyes to your mouth, your eyes are exactly half way between the bottom of your chin and top of your head. It's all even.

You look GREAT sly. KEEP IT UP, shave it smooth for 30 days and learn to love it.

You look better with your head shaved.  Very symmetrical. Quite handsome. You're doing the right thing. Keep it shaved clean.
