Title: I've just been saved!!

hey guys, i just want to share my good news-i just accepted Christ into my heart as my personal savior! i feel like an amazing weight has been lifted from my shoulders! Does anyone have any tips for a sly guy who has just been born again in Christ?

That's wonderful!  If you haven't already, try to get involved in a good, nurturing church -- one where you'll be supported in your walk with Christ.  Nothing is more beneficial to a new believer than the nurturing support of fellow Christians.  Feel free to send me an email if you ever have any specific questions.

As far as advice goes, get plugged into a good church and maybe a small group as well! Both will be able to support you and help you on your new journey.

Congratulations.   As has already been said, find a good bible based church and you will open your life to a whole world of Christian friendship.  Also check out the site that Marsh has for sly chrisitians.

I echo what everyone has said so far.

The moment it happened it will never leave you because Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ has not and will not ever leave you.  

It is the ultimate foundation for you to build upon, and if you haven't already noticed...you will wonder how could anyone live with out Faith in Him?

May God continue to Bless you...continue to put Him first in your life and He will...

(And if you haven't been Baptized...NOW is the time!  And after that I would encourage you to learn the requirements for Communion from the church of your choice.)

Congratulations baldmandan!
My advice to you would be to pay close attention to the leaders of the church you decide to attend. These men are very valuable assets in your new life with Christ. You are now just learning to crawl in your new life as a Christian. As times goes by you'll learn to walk in your new life as a Christian. Be patient. You will fall down at times...do not be discouraged. Pray everyday for guidance and be thankful for everything you have and accomplish.

Thank you again so much guys! you must hear this a ton from new Christians, but I have been riding on a cloud since I gave my life to God, and he has already answered so many of my prayers for guidence and for strength. Does anyone have a favorite lesson/book to share? I'm so hungry for the word of the Lord, but lack the tools yet to fully understand the meaning. I am meeting with the pastor at my new church on Wednesday and I can't wait!

Actually, feel free to contact me here.  Christian Chromedomes is kind of dormant right now.  I am having some Yahoo problem right now, so I can't access it right now!

NOPE!  IT'S THE MOST REAL THING THAT CAN HAPPEN TO ANYONE, THOUGH, ALAS, IT DOESN'T HAPPEN FOR EVERYONE SIMPLY BECAUSE MOST PEOPLE DO LOOK AT IT AS A JOKE!  CONGRATULATIONS, BALDMAN!!!  HAPPENED TO ME 20 YEARS AGO, AUGUST 11, 1991.  MY LIFE HAS NEVER BEEN THE SAME!!!

I know that this site is not a religious site.  I also respect those who have beliefs that are different than myself. 

Having said this, the term "saved" refers to being saved from one's sins.  So when a Christian says that they have been "saved", it means that they have accepted the sacrifice of Jesus, God's Son, on the cross, as payment for their sins.  It means that they have decided to live for God and to turn away from a life of sin.  For me, it is a decision I have not regretted.

I know some may scoff at this thought, that is ok.  That is what makes the internet great, is the exchange of many ideas!  Even those we think are silly or disagree with!   O0   :)

Church was incredible! Pastor Jim is really interesting and passionate about the Word. We had a long chat after the sermon and it just FEELS right!

Congrats dude.  Welcome to the family you get to eat leftovers with at reunions for eternity.  :P  Like the others, I advise finding an awesome church, no matter the denomination, and getting involved.  I wish I had been more involved from the onset.  Maybe I wouldn't be such a bonehead all the time.  :)  We are here for you.  But know that just because you accepted Him into your life that the things you want to change aren't going to quickly do so.  Growth is a long, and at times painful, process that builds character and faith.  When i became a Christian, i was on the edge of failing out of college due to excessive alcohol intake.  A semester later, I still drank too much, partied too hard, and studied too little.  here I am 3 years later finally returning.  It took three years for me after becoming a Christian to mature enough to the point I could handle the college atmosphere.  Stay strong!
