For those who shave every day it's obvious but for the rest of you - how often do you clean the dome?
Is each evening enouhg, too much or too little?
-
every day
-
With shampoo everyday?
-
At least twice a day, in the shower before shaving, and a nice wash after work, and sometimes a wipe down with a cool damp towel during the days--it's really hot here in summer.
-
I shave every morning, but I wash the dome every night before bed. I also sometimes wash off during the day even if I've just been working in the office. I like the feel of a clean dome!
-
I use HeadWash. I also use HeadShed in the shower every other day.
-
By the way, if the frequency surprises you, remember that even without hair, your scalp will still secret oils. You now have a lot more exposed surface area, so you'll notice the oils when you rub you dome. Washing keeps you from feeling greasy. And in hot weather, the wash is really refreshing!
-
Thx! A little surprised but at least its very fast to wash withoit the hair.

A nice refresher in between washing is the Bald Guyz headwipes. They have a nice scent and feel great on the dome, especially in the warm Summer weather. Leave the scalp feeling soft and clean. O0

For me, one of the best things about having a shaved head is being able to wipe it down with a cold, wet washcloth. Been doing that frequently! Gotta find the headwipes.

I'm in Arizona and cant' find the Bald Guyz headwipes anywhere, I finally gave in and got some online, LOVE them but wish they weren't so expensive. I'm on a fixed income so won't be re-ordering. Hopefully I can make them last until fall when it cools down here.

I use Wet Ones Hand Wipes. I found them in Walmart. I don't remember the price exactly, but they were reasonable. They come in a tall, cylindrical tub with a dispenser type pop up opening. They are great for degreasing the dome during the day. They container isn't exactly pocket portable, but you could keep them in your car or at your desk.

Another option for those who like Witch Hazel is to use generic hemorrhoid wipes!

How do you like those? Right now I just wash my head with my normal body soap; dial 3D. Wondering if you noticed those products really do make a difference?
-
I like both HeadWash and HeadShed a lot. My scalp feels clean after using them. I've used soap too on an occasion, but noticed my scalp feels kind of tight and dry. That's the reason I switched to HeadWash.

Thanks, I think I'll give it a try. I noticed the sides of my head are kind of stubborn and the razor tends to pull a bit, hopefully this changes things.
--- Store didn't have any headshed, but I tried out an exfoliator... I'm in love :@` Posted a topic under Head Shaving.

I shower twice a day. Once in the morning before work and at night before bedtime which means my head is cleaned twice a day. I use regular soap, the same soap I use for my face and body. As a treat to my bald head, I apply mild organic linimint oil for moisture and shine.
-
Every shower I take, whether I shave or not, I wash my head (and face) with this...

Several years ago I made my own exfoliator using Noxema and sugar or oat bran or wheat bran. It's very refreshing and feels clean and ready for shaving. I also used some liquid soaps...it gave a good scrubin'. I now use a product a local woman makes. It's sugar, fruit oils, tea tree oil and lots of other stuff (iron shavings, river rocks, blasting sand)...very thick and rough and it's gotta take some hide off so there ain't no dead skin left.

I just had a thought
In just about every mall I've been to in America, there's a stand selling products made from stuff found in/at the dead sea. I dont know what the deal is, but this company seems to fly in a load of young people from Israel to sell their products to unsuspecting Americans before flying them back to pick up some more dead sea stuff
Anyway, one of the products they sell is a mango and pineapple hand scrub, but it works very well on a noggin too. You just need to use a little, because its fairly coarse, but it does work quite well.
I have a jar in front of me, and its called Swisa Beauty Sead Sea Salt Mineral Treatment for Hands & Feet :o
Its a great exfoliator and smells great (assuming you like the smell of mango and pineapple)
