My first shave was two weeks ago tomorrow. Secord was the following Monday. Got a lot of nic's and a mole shave off that time, so waited til the next Sat to shave again. Then Mon, and this past Wed... So I am shaving about every other day.... I am blond and am Norwegian so have the light growth. Today is a shave day for me but I notice a bunch of little bumps on the back of my head this morning that weren't there laat night. Should I or shouldn't I shave today?
The main question is how often do you each shave?

I shave daily because I prefer the smooth feel over stubble. Sometimes I'll do a quick touch up later in the day if my wife and I are going out - or if I just want to feel the smooth pate again.
If you are getting bumps, I'd advise not shaving today. When you shave again, try going only with the grain until your skin becomes accustomed to being shaved. Once that happens, you can go against the grain for a smoother shave. Also, before you shave, make sure your scalp is very clean and moist / wet. I use HeadSlick as a shaving cream and find that it helps the razor glide over the skin and helps minimize the bumps and irritation.
Other sly bald guys will give you good advice on how to avoid the bumps, too. Keep at it - the sly look and feel is the way to go!

I shave everyday because I've gotten to the point that I don't like to leave the house unless its smooth. If you see me with a little bit of stubble on my head you know its a lazy day.

I'm a daily shaver in the hotter than hell months of Summer here, but in the cooler Winter months I will let it go a couple of days, sometimes weeks, as I don't mind the stubble look.

I've only been sly in the warm weather and keep it smooth feels nice and cool. Maybe I'll change my tune when the cold weather comes and go a few days between shaves. Right now though, the daily shave to smooth is the way for me.
As many SBGs will attest, the shaving ritual becomes something you look forward to because the end result looks and feels so good!

Every other day for me. That helps to avoid irritation I sometimes get on the back of the neck.

Get back in there, get your blade and shave gel, lather up and get it done! Why wait? you're gonna love it.

Hi Daven, since I"m new to shaving, I"m taking it easy and just shaving every other day. The urge is there to shave daily, but I want to avoid irritating my scalp. I want nothing to spoil this experience!
I read in some of your other posts that you have MS. You have my sympathies! I have been undergoing treatment for thelast five years for a MS-like illness. At first, I was treated for chronic Lyme and when that failed, treatment was started for Atypical Fibromyagia - meaning they don't know what is wrong. I know that I take far too much medication including some strong narcotics and yet I still live with pain. But I have a mortgage and a family to care for. I also like working and I would hurt just as much at home as I would at work!
