Title: First time head shaver
Post by: shurhad on July 07, 2011, 01:04:15 AM
After reading many posts here, I finally took the plunge and shaved my head this morning. I used the headblade sport with the headblade shave cream. My problem is that my head has a few raised knots and pimples which of course the headblade cut right through causing a messy first time scene. Looking for guidance on how to shave around these obstacles ( or tricks to the headblade) or should I try using a wet/dry shaver like the Panasonic with shaving oil. I would greatful appreciate any words of encouragement

Congrats on taking the plunge!

I started by using only the HeadBlade.  Now I use a Panasonic electric razor with HeadSlick and then relather and use the HeadBlade to get super smooth.  I found this give me less irritation and nicks.

One piece of advice with the HeadBlade - use as little pressure as possible.  You'll get a smooth shave without nicks.

Good luck - if you're like the rest of us, you'll love being sly!

Welcome shurhad, good choice in using the HeadBlade. It takes a little time to get used to but once you do, it's great.
You should not use any pressure on the blade end. Keep the wheel end on your scalp with little pressure and let the fingers rest on the unit, this will keep the blade end in place. Take long strokes with the grain when you first begin. For the knots and pimples, I would let the pimples heal before shaving again. If you have any moles that are being cut, you may want to look into having them removed. Good luck with the shaving.
