Hey guys, I was wondering (as many people have) about my facial structure and whether I need to sport a beard out of necessity, or if I can pull of the "Mr. Clean" look. My brother and mother both insist that I should keep a beard, and I was just looking for more input to decide where I stand (I'm not sure at the moment). You can compare to my avatar pic for reference, etc.
Me Clean Shaven (The picture was shortly after I shaved my head...in the middle of winter. Please look past the albino- I'm wondering about facial structure here :P):

A newer picture of me clean shaven:

So, what do you think? Does the Mr. Clean look work for me? Thanks everyone for your input!

both work well!

Dude.... I think you look good either way BUT I'm thinking you look a little distinguished with the facial hair.

I'll second that. You're a little baby-faced when you're clean-shaven. The beard makes you look a little more mature.

In all such matters, consider this question, "Where do I, the 24/7 guy in the picture," feel at home and at my best? When that is answered you'll know what to do.

For you both looks work, but I think the van dyke looks better.

Ronthejazzcat...............you wouldn't be a fan of The Rippingtons, would you???
Oh, I vote for a "flavor savor" (goatee).

Actually, I would be a fan of the Rippingtons, as well as many other jazz groups from Armstrong to Zainwul. :P Kim Stone, the bassist for the Rippingtons actually lives in my home town and I have had the chance to jam with him several times over the years. :)
Thanks for the input everyone, keep it coming, I always like to hear more opinions or ideas!

Kim Stone is great, (all the way sly???).
The entire band is great, I'm a big fan of Jeff Kashiwa.
Have all their albums. Their latest (Cote D'Azur) took some getting used to, but it's starting to grow on me.

He is indeed full on sly, with a soul patch (at least the last time I saw him). He's another who pulls it off well, and it really works with his bass player/musician/artist persona :P
