I stopped by our local Walgreens on the way home from work yesterday. I needed to pick up a bottle of Headslick, since I'm really loving the stuff.
I walked back to the aisle with the large "Shaving" sign hanging above it. I turned the corner, saw that they have re-organized all the products to new locations in the aisle, and started looking for the bright yellow bottle.
Then I noticed there was another guy in front of the shaving lotions. He was as sly as me, and he had a bottle in his hand already. Another guy was walking toward us from the other direction in the aisle. Like us, he was sly. Sure enough, he was picking up blade refills and Headslick.
The gathering lasted only a moment. There we were, three bald guys, grabbing our stuff to keep up the look. A couple of manly nods, an exchanged grin, a grunted "hey," and we headed out in different directions.
Something about that struck me as funny, and I chuckled about it on the way home. Almost like a shared, secret fraternity or something.

Haha, it IS like a secret fraternity. I've always chuckled when I walk past another sly guy and we give each other "the nod".

Fraternity is right. I literally ran into a guy as I was leaving a bathroom and we not only gave the nod, he said heartily, "Nice haircut!"

"Nice haircut!"
That's the comment I get most often and also return from my sly brothers.

I end up in the gathering all the time. Mostly because I always head to the shaving section while my wife is spending my money. I'll exchange nods and if I see them making a big mistake, like buying Barbesol, I'll suggest something different.

I almost never run into other sly guys when buying shaving products but it seems like when I go to the gas station or just about any store I run into a few. Fast food places are better for me. I was at Arbys the other day with a couple Sly friends then a few other Sly guys came in and sat behind us, in total I think there were 8-10 bald guys sitting in the same corner at Arbys. The guy with a comb over looked alittle intimidated, made me chuckle

I see sly bald guys everyday in my liquor store - - -but today at work - -the two of us that worked are both sly bald (I like it that way) - - - - -and a very good friend of mine came in - -also -sly bald (who is opening a liquor store) - - -the three of us were talking - wines and liquors and placement of the inventory in the store - - - - -and a customer came in and said "what is this? -a bald guys gathering?" - - - he took his hat off and sure enough - - -another BALD guy - - we all laughed like hell - rubbing each others heads and the four of us baldies walked around the store and did more talking about being BALD - - - - - It was interesting and FUN

It is fun. I was walking home from my sly friends today (he actually helped convince me to go sly), and my other neighbor said "wow, you look like Steve". I said " yeah, we have the same barber"... it took him a few seconds to get it.

Was in the bagel shop a week or so ago when a sly neighbor came in and saw me for the first time sly. He gave me a big smile and handshake and said "you're gonna love it". Our work schedules were in sync for a few days and while in the shop, a local cop (also sly) came in. One of the women working there joked that the place had become a gathering spot for bald guys!
