Greetings.
A few years ago, I decided that summers in TX were too hot so I buzzed all my hair off. I liked it after a while, my wife liked it, so I kept it. One problem. There was this black spot on the back of my head about the size of a nickel. I thought at first that I actually missed a spot with the clippers. It turned out to be skin cancer (basal cell carcinoma). Nothing serious, but skin cancer nonetheless. Had it removed, so buzzing my head may have saved my life (I doubt it was that serious, but you never know). Kept the buzzed look for almost a year, then decided to grow my hair out. Part of it was in pcutres, I thought I looked old (and fat). I didn't want to be either. Went with the hair look for a while (meanwhile I was back in gym getting born again hard). Finally decided it was just too hot for hair and so went back to the buzzed look. Been that way since and now thinking about shaving all the way. I still notice that spot on the back of my head. It is pinkish colored now. I get it checked yearly. I wish it would "tan up" a little. I probably notice it more than other people do.
Anyway, glad to be back with the buzzed look. I'm not sure it looks that great but my wife likes it. I get a lot of stares (I think people think I'm a serial killer some times).

The left overs of skin cancer don't tan--and I've had several. But, more importantly, welcome to the site, and join all of the rest of us guys at SBG that have had skin cancers removed--it's so easy and not doing the little bit it takes to remove just doesn't make sense. And for you lurkers and members that aren't using sun block--get with the program--now.

welcome. I lived in Phoenix AZ and was sly there. One learns to wear a hat when out as sun is out there nearly 330 days a year. Also visited the dermentolgist every 6 months. Be particular concerned about black spots. Two years ago moved to the Austin Tx area.
