I've been shaving since Navy "A" school (that's right after boot camp)
-
Not shaved, but I've been buzzed pretty much since bootcamp and infantry training back in '77. For a while I had a flat-top, but that was the longest I've had it since then.
-
Since bootcamp at Fort Knox in '62.
-
Now and then I "let it grow out" as far as regs would allow, but mostly had buzz or flattops for my career. Thought I'd go hippie when I retired, but MPB set in for the good and all and I started shaving it sly.

Hey KJ,
I was in the navy 10 years, I separated in 2006. Yes I did start shaving my head due to MPB but I like the look so It doesn't bother me
-
I started razor shaving my head way back in 1983 when I started my military career(1982). I was in my early 20s and usually wore a high and tight horseshoe flat top or was peeled down to sandpaper at the barbers
-
I just retired from the Navy last year and didn't go SLY as fast as I should, but...
...had been balding since before bootcamp.
I can remember taking tests in "A" school in 1990-1991 and literally see my hair falling out onto the paper on the tests I was taking...

That just wasn't the "in" thing to do back in 63 - 67. (1963 - 1967) Anyway, even as a 22 YO E5, I could hardly grow hair on my face, I wasn't about to take a Gillette Blue Blade to my head!
