first off my apologies, I couldn't find a bald Dr. Nick :)
My name is Ralph and I've used the name Dawdler for a few years, since I tend to procrastinate a lot and dawdler was easier to spell then procrastinator.
I've had thin hair all my life (hereditary) and began to bald in my mid 20s and was really losing it in my late 20s and decided to go Sly around that time and its been at least 10 years that I've been doing the bald thing and have never had regrets but I do wear a porkpie hat from time to time, I figure if you're going to wear a hat you might as well look stylish.
what brought me to SBG wasn't even a question about being bald, it was should I rock a soul patch, since my goatee is going gray and I was getting tired of grooming it since it still looked bad.
I don't have a set routine on how I shave my melon, some shaves are a lot better then others and I don't keep track I dawdle that way in fact I've been lurking for a few days but what got me to register was the 30 day challenge, I had no issue with shaving since its by nature not choice but I wanted to feel how my head felt shaving everyday and it feels wonderful, even though its only been three days but I love it, before it would be every other day or three days especially on the weekends. I didn't hate the fuzzy feeling because it felt good but the slick feeling is even better.
sorry to be so long winded just needed to tell my story and I still don't know if I should go soul patch since I'm a bit husky, have a dimple chin and have heard opinions of what people think of people with soul patches.
thanks for reading

Well I'd say that there are worse things in life than gray face fur -- but then I would.
Otherwise, go for it! Life's too short not to try out new face fur!

I wouldn't mind if it was all gray, its just these sporadic gray hairs look awful compared to my darker hair and they seem to be a bit longer too and thanks SlyBear I'll give it a shot and you're right life is too short

Good idea. Just remember, it's essentially just a few minutes to go from balding to sly, but a beard takes patience. Give it at least a month, preferably three. Take a look at these rules: there's some good stuff in them for guys growing a beard.

I know what you mean. Going bald was a piece of cake compared to dealing with grey hairs in the beard. But don't let grey hair stop you from growing one. I've just come to the conclusion that a grey beard is better than none at all, so the grey is just something I have to put up with.

Gray just shows that you've been around the block a few times. :*))
Besides, it gives you that "distinguished" look. ::)

what's up?
i shave my head and rock the soul patch...good combo in my opinion

Welcome Ralph, good to have you join us. I would suggest trying the soul patch to see how you like it.
If it turns out you don't, just grow back your goatee. Don't let the gray bother you, by a certain age you've earned it. O0

Welcome! Keep the goat, no worries about a few gray hairs here and there. O0

thanks for the welcome and the feedback, I'm still on the fence but I think a changed may not be a bad idea, I'll keep you posted thanks again.

For what it's worth, my goatee's going grey and I rather like it!
