Title: Beard or No Beard

So as I make the transition back to being sly -want some input on whether I should keep the beard or shave it off when I shave the dome?  Opinions?

I'm sly with a full beard so I vote for keeping it - but letting it fill in.

I prefer the "Douche-bag" beard to the full beard look(yea - thats the official name for the thin law line beards)

Admitting that I like a beard look obviously, perhaps you might want to try a few different styles, start with a full, then trim it down to variations and see what the different effects are.  I saw a comment by a bald guy with a beard once about why he kept facial hair--"without it there's too much skin!"

I agree with Saintc, everytime i shave off the goat there just seems to be too much skin to look at! I personally like having some sort of facial hair even if its to know which way up my head goes  :*))

Will probably shave the head clean this weekend - So will keep the beard and see how it looks!

Not sure how im feeling about the shaved head and beard look on me.  Cant seem to get the transition between the 2 of them right

Looks good on you--don't jump to conclusions, like the sly head, try it for a while--maybe 30 days, until you see if you get used to the new "dude in the mirror."

Looks good.  And remember that one of the cardinal rules is if you're thinking about shaving your beard, wait 24 hours before acting.

But it grows back in 3 days and I have only had the beard for 3 weeks

I think a full beard would be very hot on you. If not then just a goatee. The thin line beard some how just makes your face look very long IMO.

Shaved to a Goatee this morrning - think it looks alot better.  Took a pic before I ran out the door to work but didnt have time to download it yet.

Stick with the facial hair, looks good on you.  After almost a year of going sly I finally decided to start growing the facial hair (using the hockey playoffs as my excuse).  I had wanted to try for a while, but the first few days of stubble just looked horrible in my opinion.  But once I got over that hump, I'm loving the balance.  I'm still trying to figure out exactly how to work with the blend from bald head to sideburns, though.

Don't blend. I thing it looks best when the beard just starts. This makes a great contrast.

Well I dumped the whole facial hair thing (to much dang work since it comes in patchy gray at this point) and now sporting clean shaven and a High & Tight haircut (I think this counts as semi-sly since the sides are shaved skin tight)

I think you look youngest and best totally shaved. Keep the eyebrows and thats a hot look...everything smooth.

You look 35-42. If that wounds, don't ask how old you look. I never do and am amazed at how many people tell me anyway. Of course what they really want to know is how old I really am: 67. Just as it states on my driver's license and passport.

Totally shaved save for the eyebrows. You have just the sort that add personality and strength to your face. They're not too wide, no unibrow and accentuate what is already a good looking man.

I likhe beard, it suits you and imo you look younger with it! I'd go for the fuller version rather than the "douche bag" one
