I was shaving my head the other day and had a pretty good nick to my head. Was wondering what you guys use when you nick you head? And how do you shave you head again when you have a nick healing on you head?

I haven't had too many of them but have used a styptic pencil when necessary, it stings a bit but stops the bleeding quickly. Even with a nick I stick to every day shaving, I put a finger on it and shave up to it with the blade. if it has taken more than a day or so to heal and the spot has gotten "shaggy" I've gently gone over the nick with my cleanhead.

The same here, when i do nick myself [ normaly going over a zit i didnt know was there] i use the syptic pencil[ the old nick stick] this stops the bleeding at once, it does sting but it gets the job done. O0 O0 O0

haven't had many head nicks, just starting, but i use an alum block (wat styptic pencils are made out of) for cuts, relatively inexpensive, its an antiseptic for my razor burn. just wet it up and rub on face and head to cool, tone and act as a balm!

Same here. I don't have a CleanHead, I use a Panasonic 8243. I also have some styptic Q-Tips that I found somewhere (?). They have a tube shaft with a little capsule of styptic solution inside that you break and let it run down into the cotton. That stuff works even on BIG cuts.

see if you can recall where you got the styptic applicators - they sound like a great addition to the medicine cobinet.
the sticks work ok but they end up being a mess and soften in the dampness inthe bathroom

They are called "Styptic Swabs" and they are made by a company called Kutkit. I don't remember where I bought them but they really work well. I have also used them for home remodeling type injuries where there is a lot of blood but not quite severe enough for sutures.
P. S.: If you google Kutkit Styptic Swabs one of the pages that will come up is Majestic Drug. This is apparently the parent company or the manufacturer. On their home page is an option for finding retailers and they have a list of about 20 different stores that sell these, or, you can order off the website for $3.99 for a 12 pack.

Going to be shaving my head again and will have to try those Kutkit Styptic swabs. It does sound like a good addition to my shaving kit.

I use vetrinary grade Stypic powder that I bought for my dog when I clip his nails. It stings a bit, but boy does it work! I even used it on a large cut on my hand where I took a chunk of skin off the size of a dime and it stopped the bleeding immediately.
