Hello!
My name is Patrick, and I'm from Melbourne, Australia.
I found this forum and thought that I could find some people who will have the same preferences as me.
I love Tokio Hotel, Twilight and Arnold Schwarzenegger.
If you love them too, please PM me.
So the question is: should I cut my hair down?
It's important for me, so please do not flame on me. Please.
Cheers,
yours Patrick <3

Im not so sure youre ready for us (bald) yet. If u want shorter hair, ask away.
-
No.
You got it wrong (sorry).
I want to become 100% bald.
To change myself, my style, everything.
And I want to know how it is: To Be Bald.
Please tell me how it is and if you think that is better long-haired then bald.
Sorry if I sound strange,
Cheers,
Patrick

Why do you want to go bald ? You seem to have a full head of hair, just curious . For my self I don't have a problem with being bald , but at your age I would.
-
I don't have problems with the hair's growth.
The idea is that I want to become bald just because I started to lose myself in my mind.
I think that the length of hair directly changes me, so I want to see how it's like being bald.
It's ideal? It's cool? It's better than with long hair?
Thanks for answer.
Cheers
-
Your answer sound to me that you are not contented in the way you are . Changing your looks I guess can be a first step . But why the change ?
-
Like I said, I started to lose myself. I don't know how is to be myself, don't have any preferences of mine, I am being ignored a little by people that are around me.
They think I am a little strange.
But I don't want to change because of them. I want a change to start my life from a new page.
And like you said, changing your look is the first step.
I think that being bald will make me more confident and will help me evolving from this state of being.
So how's to be bald?
Thanks.
Cheers,
Patrick

Being bald is good some will say great . It is also being set free , free of the constraints of how my hair looks . It tells the world this is me take me as I am if they don't like it , to bad that's their problem.
-
Wow.
I think I should go bald. This will change my lifestyle and my vision, in a better way.
Glad to know that being bald has it's merits.
Thanks for the advice.
I am very happy to find a way to resolve my problems.
Cheers,
Patrick.
P.S:
How should I get bald?
It might be so that it will grow back, and I don't want this.
Please help.
Thanks.

Hi Patrick,
reading your post, I am under the impression that there are some problems underneath, that a change of your appearance won't change.
If you want to cut your hair as a choice of stile that is okay.
But if you want to cut or shave it to change your life, I am skeptical about that.
What do you mean by loosing yourself?
You said, that people ignore you:
- shaving your head will probably change that
You said, taht people think that you are a little strange:
- they will probably think, that you are even stranger if you shave your head now
When I first shaved my head, I felt liberated and sort of naked at the same time.
So that was positiv and negative at the same time and i let my hair grow again at first.
Eventually the positiv won, and I and my surroundings had the chance to get used to it.
If you want to change your stile, you might want to start by cutting your hair shorter and different, and find out how you like it. And from there you can go shorter and shorter if you like.
But in general I think you should find out what it is that makes you feel that you loose yourself.
I think a change should start from the inside out, and not from the outside in.
You know what I mean?

I second that, you have to feel it from within. Work on that first.

You got it wrong.
The problem is that I know that I can change myself by changing my look because I did this once.
At 15 years.
When I made the terrible mistake to grow my hair.
That changed me. A lot.
So I know that it will work. The problem is that I don't know how to change my look.

Not loosing, but lose.
I stopped to love my friends, family, having my dreams and ideas.

Listen, I understand that change is tough, believe me I know. I've done it often enough myself, but that's the beauty of it; we're constantly changing and evolving. You have to be open to it.
It's funny that you mention you made a mistake in growing your hair, I wouldn't call it that. It's something that you wanted to do, so now you may be thinking of cutting it down. No big deal, it's time for you to try something new. It's just a choice you're making, don't let it define you.
-
Thanks.
I'm just in such a mood that I cannot live any more.
Shaving my hair should be the first step to a series of changes that will happen.
It's symbolic.
Thanks again for cheering me up.
Cheers,
Patrick

Hi Patrick,
that sounds really desperate and confirms my impression, that there are problems underneath the surface.
If you say, that you can not live any more, that sounds really serious.
And if it IS really serious you might consider talking to a good friend or even a professional (that is not a bad thing).
If it is not that serious and you are cheered up already and just need a change, go ahead and hopefully make the right choices for whatever change you desire.
By the way:
Please excuse any wrongspellings, cause I am not a native english speaker.

About the problems underneath the surface - right to the point.
That is what I was trying to say.
It's not really serious, and I am already cheered up by you guys. Thanks.
Guess I must become bald.
It's a must, really.
Thank you for concern about me.
P.S
I am not a native English speaker either.
I wasn't born in Australia.
And don't worry, it's ok.

Go for it! There's absolutely no problem someone with a full head shaving it all. You don't need to be MPB to shave your head.
Most guys here are balding and decided to shave it all for feeling better, but there are lots of other guys who haven't a baldness problem (like me) who love to shave their heads.
When I shaved for the first time lots of years ago I didn't regret it, I regretted not having done that before. I shaved my head in steps, but it's also fun to shave all at once.
I think most people (including women) fantasized with that someday. It's hard to get the plunge and sometimes there are reasons for not doing it (work reasons, for instance) but it's worth a try.
Just shave it, if you don't like it you will have you hair back in a few months (in fact in a few weeks you'll look like you just had a short crop).
But take care. Most people hurt themselves when they shave for the first time (that happened with me). If possible get someone else's help -- a barber or a friend.
You can also have a #0 or #1 crop first, then get some sun for a few days and finally shaving smooth... so your head will not be extremely white.
Remember, not all your problems will disappear when you shave your head, but I feel that's symbolic and sort of a rite of passage and I hope you'll feel better after doing that.
If possible register everything with a cam.

Hi, Patrick !
I would say that if you are feeling you should shave your head then like what Nike say's; "Just do it!"
I can guarantee that you will love it & will definitely experience a boost in confidence. I did as many others here did also.
Make sure you are careful when you shave your head for the first time as your scalp will be very sensitive. If possible, get the help of a friend or your local barber.
All the best in your decision (which is a very good one).
-
I am happy that all of you support me so hard. Thank you, much appreciated.
I am going to find a local barber and ask his help.
Though I don't have a camera to film the process, I will make a photo with me after shaving.
Cheers,
Patrick

I don't know, you just don't come off as being sincere... somehow it feels you're only trying to mock baldness and bald ppl. Could be only me, though... if you're sincere then it's fine and I apologize.
-
I didn't get the "troll" impression. What I did get, though, is the impression that someone thinks that putting on a coat of paint will somehow negate the fact that termites have eaten the load bearing walls. Question of what I interpret as priorities.
But that's just my opinion, I could be wrong.
I also think there's a question of a common language but Patrick addressed that earlier.
I just think he's too focused on arranging the deck chairs on the Titanic.
-
If you feel "lost" or however you put it...theres more to it than just a haircut will fix. Going from long hair to completly bald is a big change....I would go short with the clippers first with a buzzcut, and see how you like it like that for a little while, and if you like it then go all the way to bald. And if you don't like it, then you still have hair & it'll grow back in no time. And btw you have nice hair the way you look...but I guess we all have the need for a change every now and then.
-
I say do it, it's only hair, it will grow back. But, if you're doing it because you think it will change your personality or something else, think again.... 8)
-
i kinda smell a troll.
either way, it sounds like you need some zoloft more than a shave.
-
I'm simply gonna say that any big changes in my life have been an inside out job. And real change, requires real action. You can act your way into right thinking, you cannot think your way into right action.
Shave or don't. Made a decision and act on that decision. The sooner you realize that having blue hair or no hair isn't gonna make a bit of difference deep down where ya live, the sooner you'll start focusing on the real problems...whatever they are.
Hell at your age, we were all crazy. Part of growing up. Try to enjoy the ride.
