Do any of you guys use IE9 and if so what do you think of it.?
-
fiefox ATW FTW.
-
I just switched to the Good Chrome and love it so far... O0

Tom, I must admit that I don't even know what it is. If it help to shine the dome, I'm interested!!
-
Nope, it's a new browser that Microsoft just put out Don.

I was forced into buying a new laptop this week (Toshiba Satellite) and I'm very happy with it. Came with Windows 7 which is much friendlier to use than the Vista that was on the HP that croaked. The new one also has IE9 on it - in my limited use it has performed well. Somethings are different in appearance but it has been fairly simple to adapt to.
-
In all honesty, the only thing I use IE for is Windows updates. For everything else, I use Firefox, or Google Chrome. I have zero confidence in IE - and FF is faster, more secure, more customizable, and just all-around better than IE in every way.
-
Chrome and Firefox >>>>>>>>>>>> IE9 and it's not even close.
-
As a web professional I advise avoiding IE. It gets better and better with each revision, but that's like saying "my sh*t stinks less every time".
It has nothing to do with usability -- which is something each of you can decide upon on your own -- but rather with security concerns.

Geez, a little piling on here guys.

Well, you asked! Just trying to help.
My mother once said "Never ask a question you don't really want the answer to!" 8) She was a wise woman.
-
Right, and then there is the old one about "If you can't say anything nice don't say anything at all."
-
Yep Tom, some people just can't help themselves. Talk about opinionated. Since we're now on to sayings, how about this one: "the only stupid question is the one you don't ask".
-
Tom, if you only wanted to hear positive opinions, why did you even ask the question?

I hear ya brudder.

Google Chrome to go along with my "Chrome Dome!" O0

I was having trouble for weeks logging into SBG. I would enter my name and password and hit enter and get a "wrong password" response. I would re-enter the same password and get connected. After I switched to Chrome this stopped. I had IE8 running prior. I used FF years ago, I don't remember any specific problems with it but I'm happy with Chrome.
-
I agree with Bear to stay away from IE9 due to security reasons. Chrome and Firefox will provide you with everything you need and they are faster.
-
There are still people using IE on purpose?!!! Huh. Who knew?
There isn't an IT expert I know that won't tell you that Firefox and Chrome are more secure and/or faster. Not one. There's a reason for that.
It's not personal toward anybody, it's just a consensus based on a lot of experience.
In other words, "Lighten up Francis."

If I was using linux I would stick with firefox, but since this is a windows world I use google chrome. :)
