I would like to ask those of you of faith, no matter what faith, to please lift in prayer a friend an lady I work with, Lisa. This past Tuesday she lost her 14 year old son in a shooting accident. What compounds this is that this is the 2nd time in the last year a woman I have worked with has lost a child to an accidental shooting. Gotta be honest with you brothers. It's really hard to understand why. I know this isn't the first one and probably won't be the last but this incident has really shook me up as well as the people I work with. I won't get into the religous or spiritual aspects of this. It's just hard to get my head around why someone who has their whole life ahead of them dies so young. I know there are the traditonal replies..it was his time..or ...the Lord called him home. That all seems so hollow.
Anyway..please ..especially keep Lisa in your prayers and the rest of us as we all sort through this.
God Bless

I will pray for Lisa and her family and for your peace in understanding all of this.

In cases such as this, I look skyward, and ask "Are you there and if you are, what are you playing at?"
I dont beleive all the "Lord called him home" stuff. We are told that he is looking after us etc...and sometimes it is very hard to beleive.
My thoughts are with Lisa

When you're ready, you might want to read When Bad Things Happen to Good People, by Harold Kushner. A thoughtful book that can provide insights into this much too common occurance.

Hammer, my prayers are with Lisa and her family. A loss of a loved one is bad enough let alone one's child. I can think of nothing worse than outliving your child. God be with them!
