Just went for a jog which resulted in no longer having 'feeling' in my thumbs. Also lead me to discover that i am in fact, massively unfit and would probably get my arse kicked in a race against a 74year old woman with a history of heart failure.
also probably didn't help that it was -2oC outside and i had made the not so tactical decision to wear only a t-shirt!
Anyone else trying to get fit for the new year??
-
Not just for the New year. i have fitness tests regularly at work. Got my mile and a half time down to 9 mins 58 secs which for 40 i am quite happy with. To pass the test I have to do it in 13 mins or less

Hey nice work!
What is it you do for a living then? Services?

Ah ok, iv'e been considering the police. Always wanted to be a firefighter but jobs don't actually seem to exist in either atm. Im planning to visit my local army careers office to see what i might find myself doing, should i sign up.

I've been trying to get back to my extremely fit days. Will probably do a before and after kind of thing when it's all said and done. Keep at it just don't forget a sweatshirt next time

Thanks Razor. Only one slight problem. The weight just drops off me when I train to that intensity :'(

Lift weights. It should add some bulk to your frame.

I have a friend who was with the :popo RUC :popo for 25 years. During the time he was active he was a marathoner but also cross trained as a boxer. Little tiny guy but really fast hands and never at a loss in a scuffle. Never did any weight training that he spoke of but was real ropey in the arms and hit like a truck. Spent a lot of time on the heavy bag and learned to punch from the gut and that added up to a lot of power.

Ambassador, I'd send you some protein powder to help you in your quest for bulk, but it would probably never make it through customs :o :(
It's a shame we can't just transfer bulk. ??? I have some love handles that I'd love :@` to give away :/O )
Maybe I just need to go for a jog (more!) 8)
