I have just about had it with that credit score commercial where the two good credit scores are represented by two handsome men with full heads of hair and the bad credit score is represented by a bald, short, pudgy guy. One can control one's weight (I know for some it is much more difficult than for others) but baldness is beyond our control. It just really irritates me to see these kinds of things. Good = hair, bad = bald. I know its just a commercial but why is it that bald men are the last group of people who its perfectly PC to mock and ridicule?

Well if they would have used a UFC guy or Steve Austin that would have shattered that sterotype of fat , loser, bald guys. The key is that many bald men still buy into it themselves that baldness makes them less successful. But we are making progress in shattering that.
Certainly you have done a lot in your school to shatter that myth, right ?

There was a bald guy in that commercial?

Funny you should post this because I've been thinking the same thing about a new ad that Yoplait yogurt is running. A woman is at her high school reunion and everyone is complimenting her on how good she looks, presumably because she's been eating Yoplait. Then a bald guy with a beard tells her she hasn't changed a bit. She hesitates and then says, "You haven't either", as the camera zooms in on his name tag which has a picture of him in high school with a full head of hair.

I noticed both of those adds too. They won't be getting MY business. Similarly along the lines of the market you see in commercials where men are weak idiots who need to be saved by their wives. I just blow it off and vote with my wallet.

I saw that ad also. The woman conspicuously gazes at the top of guys head as she makes the "You haven't changed either" comment. Mean time the balding guy comes across as a meek, embarrassed guy who lacks confidence and self esteem.

I think they make our point from the perspective that a balding guy doesn't look his best generally until he "sticks his courage to the sticking place" to borrow a phrase from the Bard, and goes sly. Hesitation is a form of self flagellation, and a practice I have a very hard time understanding.

What's a credit score?? And as an older, shaved bald dude, What the F_ _ _ do I care?
Commercials, are made, presented, and paid for, to make the viewer remember them, and to provoke a response. looks to me like that was accomplished.

I've just seen both of these commercials and I thought the same thing.................the little bald guy is made out to be the geek and a loser. The yogurt wasn't quite as bad to me at least. The credit score ad was crap.

Amusingly once I went bald my credit score skyrocketed, it's better now than most guys with hair.
