Title: Vash and his band
Post by: jusbnme on April 11, 2007, 05:38:53 AM
Vash my man...I just wanted to say that your band, as well as yourself, are a breath of fresh air.  When I would read posts from SBG about how you were in a band I had no idea how unique and harmonious it would actually be until I checked it out.  I'm so tired of these so called "artist" with little, or no talent, coming out with what they consider "music."  Now you and your band...That's talent and true artistic ability at work.  To be honest with you bro I have never heard this genre of music before.  I knew there was a celtic genre of music out there but I never knew it was so diverse.  Your band is genuine and you are a genuine soul Vash...Never change man.  I love to learn about new, and different, things in life.  Thanks for opening my eyes to one of them.  I wish you, as well as the band, much success down the road. O0

Vash, gotta agree with Lance.  That's an awesome sound.  Even ordered a CD to add to my Gaelic collection.  Keep up that sound and good luck

you can go to his band's web site which I believe was www.circledbyhounds.com
I also came across Vash's myspace.  I believe he has 2 of them.  One of them he's demonstrating some of the instruments he plays.  It's awesome.  I'm sure Vash can direct us better if he picks up on this thread.

Tyler used to have one of their songs on the Jukebox here as well

I grew up hearing this type of music (esp the more traditional sort) on a daily basis, it used to drive me nuts.  I've mellowed in my old age.

I'll say one thing, the bodhrán might look easy to some people, but it's a hard instrument to play well and vash does a heck of a job.
Really liked the tutorial videos with the bones & spoons too. good stuff!

Wow guys n' gals, thanks so much for all the kind words! I had completely missed this thread until tonight.

I realize what we do may not be up everyones alley, but it's always nice to hear when folks DO appreciate our music  :@` .

Thanks for checking us out and you can find all the related links to both the band, and me as a soloist in my signature message below.

As a musician myself, I think it's absolutely wonderful. Some of my favorite bands like Ensiferum and the old In Flames also incorporate the Celtic folk style I hear in your music. Great Job man!  (**!
