Title: Santa Claus is Coming to Town!!
Post by: Mikekoz13 on December 09, 2010, 05:17:56 PM
So this Saturday, the 11th, I am going to be Santa Claus at our Firehouse for two hours. I'm REALLY looking forward to it!

But here's the cool thing......

About 8:30 AM I'll be getting into the Santa suit. AT about 8:40 AM I'll be jumping onto the HArley in nothing but the Santa suit.
At about 8:31 I'll be slipping a cd with the song "Santa Claus is Coming to Town" into the CD player. I'll turn up the volume nice and loud. Then I'll ride the 2.5 miles into town!!!

Cool Mike.  Saw three Santa's having breakfast together yesterday AM at Mickey D's.  They were headed to their jobs at the Mall.

That will be one nice ride--have you got any "reindeer antlers" for your "horse?"

We will, of course, require photos.

Photos will go up later in the weekend!

The only negative is that at 8:30 AM tomorrow morning it's supposed to be about 28 degrees!!!! Not a problem for Santa!!!!!!

Is this really for your fire house or do you just like dressing up like Santa...or maybe a little of both? >:D

Good luck...sounds like a lot of fun!!!  Kids and kids-at-heart will love it!!!

Unfortunately we got about an inch of nasty snow yesterday. Not much... but enough that the road up here on the mountain is covered..... so the Harley stays in the garage today.

HOWEVER!!!!! I'm off of work this coming Friday and.....

I have the suit for another week and I've been asked if Santa would be willing to drop into the Senior Center in town on Friday for their annual CHristmas Party.

WHat else can a Santa say but "Ho!, Ho! Ho! I'll be there!!"??

I might even swing by the Elementary school for a surprise visit. There's also a Senior Care facility in town that may get a surprise visit. The local pizza place may get a stop by too.

Santa and a big bag of candy canes can bring a little happiness to a lot of people.

ANd yes Santa's sleigh will be a Harley if weather permits!

I just got back from "Breakfast with Santa" at the fire house.
What an amazing way to spend a morning...... dressed as Santa, the wonder of a couple hundred kids waiting to sit on your lap and whisper in your ear.

Believe me when I tell you, the Spirit of Christmas is ALIVEand WELL!! If you find yourself a little blue this Christmas, PLEASE spend some time around young children and just listen. Amazing.

An incredible morning with some special moments:

One little girl told me that she didn't really want anything except for her Mommy to get a laptop so that she could work.

Many kids asking me for things for their parents...... before even thinking of themselves.

And two amazing sisters named Annabelle and Abi........ Annabelle was about 8 years old. She walked up to me and said, "Santa, I;m so glad you're here. I have something for you". And she handed Santa a gift and a card. She then sat on my lap and whispered into my ear.... "I just want you to surprise me on Christmas". And off she went with a smile and a little wave.

I opened the card a gift a short time later. The card was hand made and on the outside it simply said "Thank You Santa".
And inside:

Merry CHristmas Santa!

Dear Santa Claus,
Thank you for coming!
The breakfast was great.
You are my Santa hero.
Love,
Annabelle and Abi

She returned short time later with her little sister Abi... a special needs child about 6 years old. Abi spoke not a word but she did "sign" a little. She kept stroking my beard and gloves. Her Mommy told me she loved gloves... so I slipped off my gloves and slipped them onto her tiny hands. I told her that Santa would like her to keep them. SHe signed to her Mommy... "Abi's gloves from Santa". ABi kept hugging me and signing"Thank you".
Just before they left her Mommy asked her if she wanted to tell Santa anything. She pointed at me and signed.... her Mommy translated.... "Jesus loves you Santa".  WHat an amazing  gift for me........

Humbled by two young sisters.

Peace and Merry Christmas guys!

Aewsome story Mike.   Kids and doing for others is what the season is supposed to be about.  Thanks for the great example.
