Hello, fellow baldies! Looking forward to being a member here!
Well, let's see.... I'm 30, and happily married to a wonderful and supportive woman. I haven't exactly been a "lurker" here, but I have peeked in from time to time over the past year or so.
I first shaved all my hair off about 6 years ago. I kept using clippers with attachments to keep it as short as I could, until I finally mustered the courage to start shaving clean with a razor 'bout 3 years ago. I have NEVER looked back at having hair since!
My hair has always grown in thinner than paper, so there was nothing I could really ever do with it. It was just sort of... there. On top of that, I've always had a very high hairline, and even had some follicle irritation/infection on the lower back of my head for years while I had hair. The irritations went away completely within a week or 2 after the initial shaving, and it never came back at all. That there told me that I must have been allergic to my hair, right?! What more of a sign did I need that it didn't belong up there?
Like many, I was initially worried about how others would perceive me, but of course it was all in my (newly bald) head. I started receiving compliments from family; friends; and coworkers almost immediately, and even started getting more looks from the ladies (or so my wife told me in a catty way, haha!). I chalk it up as being one of the best ideas I've ever had, as it brought nothing but significant improvements to my confidence level and quality of life.
I love being bald, and am very proud of it! These days, if I get too much stubble on my noggin, I feel like my head is "dirty", and must be shaved clean. I have to say that the most common misconception about being bald that I have personally run into, is that a lot of people assume I miss having hair, and am embarrassed to not have any. Ha! They couldn't be more wrong. It could stop growing and never come back for all I care. Hell, it would be less work shaving in the morning. I already know in my heart that this my look for life. Hair is for men who have something to hide, after all. ;)
If you're here wondering whether you should try to shave your head bald or not, DO IT! If it turns out it's not for you, it will always grow back, but you will never know 'til you try. Take the plunge! Don't be afraid or nervous! A lot of us here have already been there!
That's about it for me. Sorry for the introductory novel. Glad to be a new member here! See you guys on the forums! O0

Hair is what your genes give you (or withhold); SLY is what your will and determination let you bespeak of yourself. Do you want to be a slave of your genes or take charge of your life? 'Nuf sed.
