I've been curious about shaving to the scalp for quite a while now. But in my stupidity decided this past March to get a hair system which I am now wearing. I'm a teacher, so everyone has now seen me with hair. I'm planning on shaving to the scalp over the Christmas break but I want to do it NOW. My concern is the transition. Each week that I take the hair system off (on Saturday) and I see the top of my scalp shaved at a zero, I'm tempted to just shave the rest off.

If I wasn't a teacher I would do it tonight and not wait until Christmas. You may be wondering, "what's the difference between now and then?" I think it partly due to giving myself time to become used to the new look, althought it won't be far off from what I have in my profile picture..

Any thoughts are appreciated. Thanks for the encouragement this forum brings!

If it's the reaction from your students that you are concerned about, I think you're worrying for nothing!!
When I first went sly, the people I expected to get the BIGGEST negative reactions from ended up being my BIGGEST SUPPORTERS of my new look.

I dove right into the sly look too. Sometimes, we tend to worry about other people's reactions toward us more than the opinons we have of ourselves.

Do what is right for you and everyone else will fall into line. From your pic, Sly will suit you very well! No since in putting off a happiness that you can have now! From what I've seen in my area of the World, bald is in. Besides, most of the young people I know don't like people living a so called lie. If you are balding and wear a rug, then it's a lie. Be yourself! You will be sooo surprised at the positive reactions you will recieve.

Don't waste your time and energy by waiting until Christmas. Do it now. Of course, everyone will be surprised, but that won't last for long.

When you go sly, you'll see the world with different eyes, that's a fact.

I agree with what you said, Bob-Raz, about living a lie. I know it's living a lie because when i wake up in the morning the hair looks like a dried up rats nest. It's only when I shower and put product in it that it looks real. I'll update you all with a photo when I shave.
