Title: Hi everyone
Post by: libraryguy83 on October 14, 2010, 10:18:16 AM
I'd like to introduce myself to the board. I'm new here, and new to balding. I don't know if there were signs before. If there were, I never noticed them. Looking back at pictures though, I think my hairline has been receded for a while now.....I'd grow it long and there would be a huge chunk on one side and the other side would be at the hairline level. Sometimes, I'd wake up and the hair would only be down the middle of my forehead. My friends made jokes about me balding, but I never could understand why.

However, in the last three months, a lot of my hair has begun falling out along my hairline, and it's become fairly obvious. I want to go sly, but my girlfriend tells me she'd rather wait until there's a bald spot. I don't want to watch my hair thin before my eyes. I just want to get used to the new look. I think if I can show her how I look with a shaved head, maybe she'd be inclined to be cool with me taking the plunge.

Unfortunately, I don't have Photoshop. I was wondering if one of my bald brothers could show me how I'd look with a chrome dome. I've attached a picture of me (from two years ago) to this post.

If anyone can photoshop me with the sly look, I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks,
libraryguy

Welcome Aboard, LibraryGuy,

While a picture may be worth a thousand words, nothing like letting your girlfriend seeing your new sly look "in the flesh"!!

Show her the "30-Day Rule" Video. If, at the end of the 30 day period, she still has a "hard time" accepting your new sly look, then it's time to either admit defeat and let it grow out, or find a "happy place" where the two of you can meet in the middle!

But then again...does she ask you for your approval every time she desires to change her hairstyle?...
Just giving you food for thought...... O:O

Once again, Welcome!

Hi again. To be honest, that photo does not lend itself to being photoshopped. If you, or somebody you know, has an iPhone, use this app to see what you would look like:

Welcome to the forum!

Perhaps you should get a really short haircut and see what happens then... :)

Dude !  You're a long ways from severe Male Pattern Baldness --- trust me !  Get a really short buzzcut or moderate crewcut and see what happens.  Did you ask your barber/stylist about a radical shorter haircut recommendation.  Your post really needs some fraud clean up. Keep us informed !

Hey buddy welcome to SBG, I hope you enjoy your stay O0

I think if I can show her how I look with a shaved head, maybe she'd be inclined to be cool with me taking the plunge

If you still have ling hair I would recommend giving yourself a buzzcut first before taking the big plunge into being sly. I'd say go with a buzzcut than see what people think and than I'd you still feel like taking the plung go for it. Going from longer hair  to being bald is a huge step, so it might shock people, and they might not like it.

If you go bald you can easily grow your hair back. If you decide to stick with the smooth, shaving will become something you do like brushing your teeth. You don't have to shave everyday, but honestly the feeling of a nice shave is like nothing else.
