I have been thinking about getting my ear pierced for awhile now but not sure if I could rock it. About a year ago a friend wanted me to get both of them and so the whole stretched earlobe thing but thats alittle too much. Ever since then Ive been really thinking about it though. I have had my eyebrow and my lip pierced before with no problems, just got bored with them and took them out.
Any opinions? You can see more pics of me on my facebook http://www.facebook.com/michael.baker1

If you have an itch, give it a scratch. You can take it out if you dont like it
-
Yup, you won't be satisfied until you do. It's like once you get the idea of going SLY you don't know for sure until you've done the deed.
-
I've had my left lobe pierced in two places since about 1992. It was a pain taking it out and putting it back in when I was in and out of uniform. Now...sometimes I wear one, sometimes two, sometimes I don't. I'd say go for it. It's not like it's a radical idea in this day and age.
Not a big whoop. I don't get the whole ear stretchy thing either.
-
Do it.
Last week I've got both lobes pierced, and I still don't know how that could happen to me... ::)

I think heavy-duty ear-rings look stellar with a sly scalp! I had mine done in 96 but infections made me let them close up. Sigh.
I had bent bar-bells, similar to the following:

Captive beads look pretty good too.
-
Those steel type ear-rings are just the kind I'm wanting to get, but don't know where to get them... ???
I'd say go for it, Mike: itch the scratch! I have currently just the left ear piercing, which I've had forever, but I'm thinking I'll get the right one done as well soon, to even it up. 8)

I asked some friends and they said it would make me look like a tough guy combined with the shaved head. Probably just gonna do it myself like my eyebrow. Plus it will go with my secret halloween costume...
-
Mike man, you should do it! I'm gonna include a link to my photobucket account and you can see all the different sizes I've been at. I'm currently at a 0g and usually wear solid plugs, but like BB said, the captive bead rings or circular barbells are badass. You can see me with a variety in the link. Go ahead and do both - you won't regret it I don't believe, and yeah they do make you look like a tough guy (which never hurts!). If you have any questions, don't hesitate to contact me.
Noggin - good for you - congrats!
Rob- you can get the one in BB's pic or like the ones in mine off of eBay or tons of other piercing sites (bodyartforms.com is a good one).
Guys, I've only gotten compliments from mine! Any questions, let me know!

I like the bent bars with the balls on the end as well, but I can only wear posts at school and I haven't really found any post earrings that I like lately. Once school is over, I'll probably get the steel circle with the ball in the middle and just leave it alone.

I think Im gonna do it tomorrow. Start with a basic hoop in the left ear. About how long does it take for an ear piercing to properly heal?

Thanks guys! pic (http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/Y2YDyIKVK0jDQ9GL-xzyhA?feat=directlink)
Only comment so far: "Suits your hairstyle!" ;D

Really? ???

Not something I'd want to attempt under any circumstances.

I've got my ear pierced. I switch between hoop and gold stud.
-
Dude, be sure to have it professionally done!
-
I got it done, went to Walmart and it was $10. It should be healed up by Halloween so I can put in a hoop. It started when my cousin couldnt find the earring he thought he had that he was going to use to pierce it. We went to Walmart to get an earring and the lady asked if I even had it pierced, I told her I didnt. She said if I paid for the stud she would do it free. She put it in a little hole punch gun looking thing and did it before I even realized it. It hurt for all of 5 seconds then I didnt even notice it. I got some cleaner to put on it twice a day.
-
I think we are all heaving a sigh of relief that you didn't do it yourself.
-
Remove the piercing stud once every two or three days. Coat the post in Neosporin. Replace. It will heal MUCH faster.
-
When I had mine pierced, by a friend, and then just a few days later, the second one pierced by my wife, who hadn't ever done one before, nor since, I was told to use Triple Anti Biotic Ointment, (Neosporin, for those that want a name brand), regularly, and 'turn the earring(s) regularly, to keep the hole from trying to close. So playing with it, when it is new, apparently, was a good thing. I still have both, and they don't look too shabby, if I say so myself.
-
I can't say anything positive... wrong generation! :*))
-
Although I didn't have them in when I took my pic for my profile, I have an earring on my left ear lobe and my left cartilage near the top of my ear. When I had mine done, I just used the cleaning stuff they gave me when I had it done.

I don't know what defines a generation, but I'm with you Sarge.
Mike, I'm hoping you're cool with your choice in ornaments.
-
When I was bald, I used to rock 3 piercings. Had diamonds in both lobes and another diamond in my left cartiledge. I've taken the cartiledge one out since, but I kept the other 2. Piercings look good IMO. Combined with tattoos and it's the perfect combo.

I figure if I dont want it anymore it will heal over kinda quick. When I took my lip piercing out it was there for a couple days then healed up quick, no sign of it now.
