I understand do what you must to make you happy and if this guy is happy thats fantastic
But I look at this picture and think he would of paid ten thousand dollars plus and the result is comb over madness

You got that right--damn, he probably has scars that will haunt him and a hole in his wallet to provide further pain. That guy's been "raped" and doesn't even know it.
-
Agreed, he still has a whopping bald spot on the back of his head. Just because when he looks front-on in a mirror and sees only very front doesn't mean that's the full reality of the situation.
Sheesh. That's a failure, IMO.
And 10 grand blown? Insane. (Heh.. I should talk, I blew $4,800, but at least at the time, I was only 28 and it gave me a full head - temporarily anyway)
-
Yeah, I hope he's happy, too. Sad thing is the Sly would really do this dude justice! Shoulda bought a razor, man!
-
Well, he's no longer bald; now he's clearly just balding.
Out of the deep-fat fryer into the frying pan.
Well, if he's happy, I'm... appalled.
-
This guy here again hes probably happy but does he really think far out I am no longer bald... He has the huge comb over on the front with no hair on the back isnt that an obvious giveaway. I just would of thought what woman really finds that attractive and I dont understand the psyche of guys at that level of baldness. I just think he would need a whole can of spray to hold that in place
Anyways I am ragging on this guy and I cannot talk. I guess we all do things and its all about making our own quality of life each day better and you do what you gotta do to make it through each day and if it puts a smile on his face then ups to him
-
That is what is being touted as a success?? :o
I think this is one of the main reasons I never seriously considered a hair transplant (aside from not wanting my head sliced up and punched full of holes). I knew that they could never give me a head of full, thick hair like I had when I was a kid. And for the kind of money they are charging, I would want nothing less.
-
Lets face it the guy looks like a tool in my opinion (if I am honest)
No doubt this guy spent ten grand plus for that result and he will be scheduled in for more but as you can see even if he doubles up on his result its a thin layer of see through hair. Do women really look at that and think full head of hair or damn thats sexy a guy with a comb over. But if it makes him feel better that is the whole idea shaved or comb over in the end you are the one who has to live with it.
Guys in their 20s getting this done (no offence Phigg I am in your boat also now) are on their way to losing a good amount of hair in general. They get these procedures done and their hair looks great for the next ten years. When they hit 35 years of age I wonder if the Hair Transplant salesman shows them a picture of this guy and say see this if you lose the rest of your hair on top (entirely possible) this is what you will look like check him out. Great sales pitch
Be pretty funny if one day Razor changed his avatar and he had this comb over like like what would you guys think ;)

"You're entering the Twilight Zone!" That is so far out in space, NASA probably has the film rights.

If that ever happens, someone please just shoot me and put me out of my misery. ^-^

Its the same as hair replacement systems -- they prey on the vulnerable. They take your money. They pump your head full of ideas that "this will look so natural". Their TV commercials show women hanging all over these guys. They're slick snake oil salesmen. They know how to get to us. I was had. I wish I had only spent $10,000. I would rather be sly than have a $10,000 combover.
-
Lets face it we have all spent money on snake oil or procedures and things
I have probably spent NZD fourteen grand
I still worry about not ever getting a date lol Plus being mistaken for a buddhist or a monk :S

This is another reason of why I'm glad I found this site before I paid for plugs, rugs, or drugs.

Do wish the guy happiness, but I really just can't get over how painful hair transplants seem. Just sounds awful...

Not as awful as when they just used to move whole slabs of the scalp and rotate them to the top of the head. :-\

OOH!........THAT HURTS!!

I and a few other guys have had transplants
I hear those flaps (moving slabs of skin) are painful. But the transplant itself is not. Worse part is the needles into the head (which sound bad but seriously its nothing).
In saying this transplants are 95 percent fails. The odds of looking good is pretty small and all those guys that do end up working for the clinics as consultants. How many times when I was browsing those hair loss forums guys post their pictures with one year results like this guys and there are ten comments by the same guys saying looks amazing and another happy transplant patient. How can this guy be happy... Shave it to a buzz cut and hes got this big wave of hair to the left front

ROFLMAO!
BTW, hair transplants themselves aren't particularly painful. The head is numbed with lidocaine or whatever, and you get the gas too.. The day after you're a bit sore, but it's not that bad.
The shame of it is what Nate said. The vast majority of the follicles die after the procedure. Then the HT center lies to you and claims it's 100% guaranteed, if any plugs die, they'll redo them free of charge. My place admitted to a few dying and redid them as a "feel good" measure, but I think if they hadn't, it would've been obvious even then how many didn't work; though it's kinda hard to tell unless you shave your head and see just how much from the donor area they took. Now that I can see, I'd say maybe 35% to 40% of my transplants had taken.. and that's being generous. It just doesn't work, at least, not as a permanent solution. It bought me a few years, that's all. Then I had to start parting my hair on the side. . then I was using Toppik, more and more every year, until I finally said enough!
Transplants only leave you scalped in the long run - both financially and literally.
(Though I'd never have done that old flap thing, what a horrible idea!!!)

agree with the above. It buys you years and then u get it good when the scalp recedes...

That is why I hesitate to have the procedure. AT 48 I have just in Spetmeber lost a spot in the vertex and the hairline is thin with temples receded. Everwhere else is very thick and I am probably a good candidate. My fear is if it fails I would then not be able to shave without having to spend additional dollars to correct the scars.

I hope that this MD's parents are proud that they went into debt to send their son to med school just so he could end up being a glorified hair stylist. Definitely worth the tuition.
I wonder if that procedure is covered by insurance.

OK, so all you guys that thought about the plugs, rugs and drugs, just ante up about 10% of what you would have paid and send it to the Sly Bald Guys party fund... :*)) :*))
Better than that, buy an extra t-shirt or two from the website store, and tell all your potential sly friends about this site and how they can save THOUSANDS $$$$$ O0
Say, wasn't it Soopy Sales who told kids to get all that nasty green paper out of their parents wallets and send it to him care of the local TV station... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soupy_Sales YIKES! :Xo!
