Hey budd, both HeadBlade and Bald Guyz make a wash specifically for the scalp. I haven't tried them yet, but guys here that did have given them a decent rating.
I use my regular face soap and it works just fine.

I don't know what you use to shampoo your beard, but I use the same stuff on my scalp that I use on my beard--at the same time, including the conditioner--to soften the stubble up for the daily scraping of the grape.  I use Mane n' Tail products since they have proven to keep the beard as soft as possible.  Does a fine job.

I always wash my face and dome with some liquid soap or shower gel.

I was never one for fancy grooming products but since trying it I now swear by Checks and Balances by Origins.  It's described as a "foamy face wash"  great for the smooth head too.   I slather it on in the shower after shaving because  it's also great for shaving any missed spots as well.

I recently started using Zest 2 in 1 hair and body wash, not only to wash but shave with as well. It leaves my head baby butt soft.

BigBudd,
I have used both "HeadWash" by HeadBlade and Bald Guyz "Daily Wash And Shampoo" and they both work great, however I prefer BaldGuyz because I have prety sensative skin and it does not irritat me at all! It also has a great scent, I also recomend that if you do try the BaldGuyz "Daily Wash And Shampoo" that you also try their other products as well in a complete shave routine. I found that by combining all of their products together in a routine that in a rather short period of time that my head never looked better!

I use St. Ives Apricot Scrub daily on the face and skull. It really clears the way for a great shave by removing any dead skin cell and embedded grime and dirt.

I have naturally oily skin so I can get away with using it daily. If you skin is really sensitive or drys out easily you might not be able to use it daily. I have also used hair conditioner to soften up the stubble and have even used hair conditioner as a shaving cream substitute. It is uber slick and works really well.

Sometimes I use the St Ives apricot scrub, but recently I've been using the wive's "Caress Tahitian Renewal".  It uses pomegranate seeds to exfoliate, which are a little more gentle than the ground almond bits that St Ives uses.  Also, it smells great. Doesn't have salicylic acid like St Ives though..

Old Spice Hair & Body Wash. (lightly scented)

Excellent Pre-Save Prep.

(https://www.slybaldguys.com/smf/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi486.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Frr224%2Fdmarrione%2FOSHBW.jpg&hash=7c83ed2d7915d44e7a9b9b8cb987485b5201172e)

In addition to using OSHBW as an aid to a great PRE-SHAVE, try mixing in a dab with your favorite shave gel/cream!!

Wanna add a bit more (ahem) spice to that "special time" of the morning you can call your own? (**!

For those of you who may use one of the popular shaving oils on the market (Shave Secret or King of Shaves), mix a few drops of the oil into the OSHBW and apply!! Then shave using your favorite blade!! O0

Leaves your scalp super smooth with a great non-greasy shine that'll last all day!!

It leaves you with a remarkably fresh, deep-down type of clean that is beyond description. Sounds strange, I admit - but it's the type of "clean" that has to be experienced to be fully appreciated.

If you find during the day that you need a quick fix, just massage your head with a little cold water, pat dry and you'll be fresh as a daisy once again!!

Product can be purchased virtually anywhere: CVS, Wally-Mart, Your Favorite Grocery, $$ Stores, etc...

-Cap'n Noodles -

All Great Suggestions here (and more to come, I'm sure). Grab an idea (or try 'em all) and run with the one(s) that appeal to you most!!

I use St. Ives apricot scrub and a cheap shampoo. I follow up with Thayer's witch hazel.
